Oklahoma City Doctor Stephen Wolf, 51, Faces First Degree Murder Charges in the Death of His 9-Year Old Son, Tommy Wolf

Dr. Stephen Wolf, 51, of Oklahoma City, was arrested Monday and accused in the early morning death of his nine-year old son, Tommy Wolf. He faces first degree murder charges in the death of the third grader. Police Chief Richard Mask said, "It was obvious there had been some type of altercation" when police arrived. Responding officers found Tommy wounded inside the Wolf residence, 1715 Elmhurst Ave., Mask said. He was later pronounced dead. He also said that arriving officers disarmed Wolf, but did not elaborate except to say a knife was found at the home.
Although the investigation is still under way, authorities believe the altercation may have begun in the boy's room "and proceeded from there" to other rooms, Mask said. Mary Wolf, Stephen Wolf's wife and the boy's mother, suffered defensive puncture wounds to her hands and a wound to her mouth, and was being treated at a hospital, Mask said. Authorities believe she attempted to "intercede and protect her child," he said. Her wounds were not considered life-threatening.

The first 911 call came in at 3:53 a.m., from the Wolf family's next-door neighbor. Mary Wolf had run to the house for help, and the resident reported someone was knocking on the door, Mask said. Mary Wolf made the second call, but hung up, possibly because she was defending herself, he said. She also made the third call, after police had arrived. Mask said tapes of the 911 calls would be released later. Source: CNN
It is unfathomable what a nine-year old child could have possibly done to this man, his father, for him to meet such a fate. This is reprehensible. No mother in her right mind would stand by and let her child be murdered without putting up a fight to defend her child. Sorry, there is NO justification for what this doctor did to this child. Unbelievable. Wolf, who is listed as an internist, is currently being held without bail.

UPDATE#1: According to the court arrest affidavit, Stephen Wolf, repeatedly said his son had "the devil in him," police reported today in a court arrest affidavit. He even reportedly tried to stab his son again even after a police officer broke up the assault in the kitchen of the home. According to News OK, he has a history of mental issues that included hospital stays for depression. His medical records reportedly show that he saw a psychotherapist in the 1980s while in medical school and was under the care of a psychiatrist in 1996.
