For once, Mike Tyson is trying to do the right thing and get on with his life, after the tragic loss of his daughter and a pushy paparazzo just had to mess with him yesterday at Los Angeles International Airport as he was trying to transact business at a United Airlines ticket counter. The guy pushed Iron Mike too far and got a fist to the face which landed him on his back.
According to the NY Daily News, a source said Tyson, who bit the top of Evander Holyfield's ear off during a 1997 title bout, told investigators the photographer hit him in an apparent attempt to provoke him for a dramatic shot. Tyson responded by dropping the guy with one punch.
Authorities said the photographer was taken to a hospital with a cut to his forehead, suffered when he hit the floor. Cops arrested both of men. Tyson's spokeswoman, Tammy Brook, said he was traveling with his wife and 10-month-old child when he was attacked and just acted in self-defense to protect his family.
The incident comes amid a difficult year for Tyson, who suffered personal tragedy in May when his four-year-old daughter died after accidentally strangling herself with a loose cord on a treadmill. It seems that the guy has finally come into his own and here we go again. These photographers need to be held in check or scuffles of this nature will continue to occur and possibly intensify.
