Darryl Bain, High on Drugs & Alcohol, Tasered to Death by Suffolk County, NY, Police, Cops Visited Home 70 Times Since 2000

Darryl Bain, 43, was tasered to death while fighting with police officers Saturday night. His mother, Phyllis Hawkins, said he drugged up son, should not have been shot with a taser gun. She said he didn't pose any threats, but his brother called 911, after he locked himself and his elderly mother in her Coram, New York, home. His mother seems to be living in denial and it is funny that she chose to ignore the fact that she took out an order of protection against her son in the past. It is an unfortunate turn of events and I have always maintained that Taser guns are more dangerous than the manufacturers and the police would have us believe. I am not stating that the cops tasered this man to death, but we have heard far too many cases of apprehended people being killed after the police use this technique to restrain them. Clearly Darryl Bain had some serious issues and how many more times would the police have come to his home before he was considered a real threat to society?

The police said, after hearing a struggle with his mother in the home, broke down the door and wrestled Bain to the ground.   According to the police, he was shot with the Taser but continued to fight with the officers as they tried to cuff him and they zapped him again. He stopped breathing moments later.

This guy is no stranger to the police. The cops have called on him at least 70 times since 2000 because of his behavior when he drank booze and used drugs. His mother said, "Alcohol did not agree with him."Gee, you think so lady? The Suffolk County coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of his death. Why wasn't this man involuntarily placed in a drug or alcohol treatment facility? I find it absolutely preposterous that his mother could take the position that her son was harmless, but yet took out an order of protection against him. I guess the bigger question for me is why he was in her home?
