Police said Billy Maxwell, Jr., a prominent Fayetteville, N.C., businessman, shot and killed his wife, Kathryn, and two teenage children, Connor and Cameron, Monday night before killing himself. One of the victim's in-laws discovered the bodies and called 911. Friends of the family described Billy Maxwell as a good family man who was highly involved in Snyder Baptist Church and his community. Kathy was a member of the Junior League of Fayetteville.
I don't want to throw cold water on the family of the victims, but what in the world could have driven this man to take the lives of his wife and children? He is being described as a devout Christian. Well, doesn't the Bible speak against suicide and murder? It is plainly stated in Exodus 20:13 -- "thou shall not murder." That includes his family and himself. It is painfully obvious that this man had some demons and there was a second entity in his walk with God.
