SHOCK: Angela Gettis, a cheerleader at Washington Prep High School, collapsed on the sideline and died, during a football game at Fremont High School, Friday night. According to media reports, Gettis was briefly revived after passing out, but died after being rushed to a local hospital three hours later. Gettis, who was a top student and a member of the Reserve Officer Training Corp., had planned to study forensic science in college. Gettis reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. According to City News Service, a witness, Cameron Bonner said the Washington Prep squad tied the game against Fremont in the fourth quarter when the cheerleader collapsed.
