Brooklyn Teen Walter Ward Charged with Assault & Criminal Possession of Weapon After Pelting Mailman with Snowballs

Brooklyn teen Walter Ward facing assault & criminal possession of a weapon after pelting mailman Russell Bumpurs with snowballs.

Brooklyn teen Walter Ward was arraigned Thursday on assault charges after horseplay turned violent in a snowball attack on a mailman. He was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon -- snowballs. This is too funny. What the mailman -- Russell Bumpurs -- should have done was maced the little punk. Of course, his attorney is saying his 16 year old client innocent, but what else is he being paid to say?
Prosecutors said Ward not only hit postal carrier Russell Bumpurs with snowballs but pummeled the civil servant in the head and face with his fists. The 33-year-old victim's injuries were serious enough to require medical attention. The Wednesday afternoon beatdown happened while Bumpurs was delivering mail on E.54th St. in Flatlands. Bumpurs told cops that when he asked Ward to stop throwing snowballs at him, the teen attacked him, police said. Source: NY Daily News
According to the NY Daily News, Ward was also charged with menacing and harassment. So, how does an innocent person get charged with menacing and harassment? He shouldn't show his face in public for being so stupid.
