Ann Pettway, who allegedly abducted Carlina Renae White from a New York hospital 23 years ago, has turned herself into police in Connecticut, after she was seen at a pawnshop in Bridgeport. A warrant was issued for her arrest in North Carolina on probation violation charges. White tracked down her biological mother earlier this month after having a nagging feeling that Pettway wasn't her biological mother. According to CNN, Bridgeport police detective Keith Bryant said Pettway was seen at Joe David Pawnbroker about 3 p.m. Saturday and was alone. A store employee called police after recognizing the woman from news reports. North Carolina authorities are seeking Pettway's arrest for allegedly violating her two-year probation sentence on attempted embezzlement charges. Pettway was arrested after she contacted a Bridgeport police officer via Facebook from Strafford, CT, CNN said.
UPDATE#1: Ann Pettway is now facing federal kidnapping charges. She will make her first court appearance Monday.
