Cornelius was upset and followed the technician to his van. Police spokesman Bill Murray said in an interview that Cornelius "continued to express his dissatisfaction and tried to block the technician's van from leaving his driveway."Here's another problem, the Verizon worker is the only person who will tell his side of the story. There won't be a version from Mr. Cornelius, so if the worker was wrong, we will never know. This is a sad turn of events and from what I have heard, except for their wireless division, Verizon sucks terribly. If they gave this made bad customer service, the family should sue the company. We will just have to wait and see how this tragedy plays out.
The technician got inside his van. Cornelius moved out of the way, and the technician began to drive away, according to police. Murray said that was when Cornelius, "reached in through the van window and grabbed the steering wheel," Murray said. Cornelius fell to the ground. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. Murray said police are waiting for the medical examiner to determine whether the fall or something else killed Cornelius.

William Cornelius, 79, Reportedly Dies After Altercation with Verizon Employee who Came to do Repairs at his Virginia Home
Well, Verizon's customer service may have literally caused the death of William Cornelius. Apparently, the 79-year old man, fed up with the level of service he received from Verizon, died after trying to stop a technician's van from pulling out of his driveway. Police said Mr. Cornelius fell after grabbing the steering wheel of the van late Wednesday afternoon and died hours later at a hospital. According to Vienna police, the Verizon technician told Cornelius that he had finished working on Cornelius's service and began to leave the home, in the 500 block of Ayr Hill Avenue NE. This certainly isn't the sort of public relations nightmare that Verizon wants at this time.
