John Boehner Rejects President Obama's Request to Address Congress September 7th, Says Following Night Would be Better

Once again, the Republicans show how little respect they have for President Barack Obama. Speaker of the House, John Boehner (R-OH) just rejected Obama's request to address a joint session of Congress on the night of September 7th and invited him to deliver the address the following night. Um, the president doesn't play second fiddle to the Republicans and certainly not the Republican presidential candidates. It's the other way around. Boehner said September 8th would be better "so we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks." Right.

One thing I find absolutely despicable is someone who leaves the scene of an accident. Nearly two weeks ago, Emmanuel Mitchell of Norcross, Ga, was killed in a hit-and-run, as he rode his motorcycle on Interstate 75. Well, the police have finally found the dirtbags who fled the scene in their Porsche -- Brandon Weston, 32, and Pamela Rice, 41.

Mitchell was on a motorcycle when he was struck by a car on Interstate 75 near Windy Hill Road on Aug. 20. Witnesses told police Mitchell was initially struck by a Porsche, and then several other drivers as he lay on the highway. Police recovered evidence at the scene that they said belonged to a silver Porsche made between 1986 and 1991.

Weston owns a silver 1987 Porsche 944 but does not have the vehicle registered or insured, according to the warrant. Weston is accused of conspiring with Rice to take the car to a repair shop in Alabaster, Ala. where damage to the vehicle was repaired, the car was painted black and the paperwork was doctored to make it look like the repairs happened before the crash, the warrant said.

Weston is charged with failure to maintain lane, no insurance, failure to register a vehicle, hit-and-run, vehicular homicide and tampering with evidence. Rice is charged with being a party to a crime of hit-and-run, vehicular homicide and tampering with evidence. Both are being held without bond in the Cobb County Jail. Source

Weston and Rice will be locked up for quite some time in a Georgia prison, as they should. You can't cause an accident and then just drive off into the sunset or night as though you did nothing wrong. Plus try to cover your tracks, when you clearly know you have done something wrong.

ABC Viewers Sound Outcry Over Chaz Bono, Formerly Known as Chastity Bono, Being Contestant on "DWTS"

I will admit, I was a little taken aback to learn that Chaz Bono, formerly Chastity Bono, will be one of the contestants on the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars." Well, it can't be for ratings because HLN's Nancy Grace, who is widely reviled by many, is also a contestant. But dang, a transgendered contestant is a first. Well, that's not sitting pretty with a lot of ABC viewers and I suspect they will lose some viewers as well. Here's a sampling of comments left on ABC's website:

• You have to literally forsake God, His Word, and common sense to call homosexuality good, normal and acceptable. Chaz is a contestant because of her radical decision; there is no other good reason. There is another gay contestant this season, which makes it obvious that ABC is making a statement…

• Sorry to burst your bubble but God does not get a kick out of homosexuality nor the transgendered. As a matter of fact he destroyed two cities because of homosexuaity…

• I think I am done watching Dancing with the stars. None of these people are stars and I sure don’t want to watch and overweight transgendered person try to make a statement for his lifestyle choice. I want entertainment not social statements …

• It is disgraceful for ABC to take advantage of ‘former’ stars’ mentally ill children. Having a confused person paraded out for everyone to laugh at is not entertaining. It’s just sad and vulgar.

• How sad we continue to drink the Holllywood Koolade...I'm thinking the Good Ole Days really were good...It's not just DWTS...it's all of TV now. How awful for our kids .
  

• It's not hard to figure out why the Muslims in the Middle East hate us! Figure it out...they never bothered us for centuries until our morals went bad. No way. I wonder who Bono's dance partner will be? Cheryl Burke? That would be too funny! If anything, Chaz Bono's presence has brought out how uncomfortable many people still are with transgendered people. From a Christian standpoint, that's just not cool to mess with God's creation in such a radical way. From a purely human standpoint, why should this person be forced to conform to societal norms?

The show must have hit rock bottom if Nancy Grace, who constantly brags about the twins and spits out venomous comments to people who disagree with her on her show, had even been seriously considered as a contestant. I will be watching just for the comic relief the upcoming season will bring. Um, Ron Artest, who has been known to have a temper tantrum or two, will most certainly have Bruno scared! Can't wait to see how fashion guru Carson Kressley, who is openly gay, will dance! I thought "DWTS" was for stars, but Rob Kardashian and Chaz Bono? What have they done to be stars? Same thing held true for Bristol Palin. Being the offspring of a star doesn't make you one. I don't have a bone in this dogfight, but I'm just saying....

I can't understand why some blacks walk around with this chip on their shoulders from the Jim Crow days? Er, it's time to let it go. This is another reason why no-one in their right minds would take the Congressional Black Caucus serious because it seems as though fomenting racial tensions is just what they love to do.

At this juncture, there is no room or need for such inflammatory accusations being hurled in any direction. This is a turn-off to many voters like myself. Some people just love to interject race and Jim Crow into every dogfight. Let me close by saying Rep. Andre Carson should be forced to resign for using such inflammatory language. There should be no tolerance in Washington for this type of language. It's amazing that Maxine Waters and the other members of the CBC are silent on Andre Carson. Why haven't the people in his district called him to task? There is a terrible double standard in this country on matters having to do with race.

Christian paint Stephen Sawyer has taken his craft to a new low -- denigrating Jesus as a tattooed, t-shirt and blue jeans wearing dude, flexing his right tricep, with his "No Appointment Necessary" painting. So, I guess we can look forward to seeing a hip-hop Jesus Christ coming soon!

The 58-year-old Christian artist's goal, according to his "Art for God" website, is to use his paintings to “reflect the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth in the 21st century.” The painting described above has appeared in hundreds of different newspapers around the world, Sawyer says, including the Jerusalem Post.

"Those people who have tattoos, many of which are bikers, who have turned their heart over to God ... instead of them being embraced by Christian fellowship ... they had Leviticus being spouted out at them,” Sawyer told The Christian Post on Tuesday while explaining the purpose of the painting. "That was my open hand slap to say, 'Stop judging people based on the outside of their cup,’” he said.

He was referring to Leviticus 19:28, which in the New International Version says, “Do not ... put tattoo marks on yourselves.” Source

Of course, no-one knows what Jesus looks like and I guess that's up to one's interpretation of the Bible. I guess if he wanted to be accurate from a historical context, he should have portrayed Jesus with a darker complexion.

President Obama Hits Back at Black Criticism, Reportedly Said It's "Bullshit"

So, the word circulating in the mainstream media is that President Obama believes the criticism being leveled at him for "ignoring" the black community is "bullshit." Let me back up....According to Politico, President Obama is reportedly angry that black leaders aren't crediting him for his hard-bought achievements that will benefit the black community, including health care reform, aid to cities, student aid and protecting Medicaid. Um, this is the same person who was willing to throw Medicaid & Social Security on the chopping block to make deals with the Republican Party. Don't get me wrong, both entities are sorely in need of change because they are cash-cows and badly run.

“The whole thing is bull——. … We have met with [black leaders] more than any other group, and we are increasing our outreach,” said a person close to Obama.

But Rep. Laura Richardson (D-Calif.), who represents several predominantly black Los Angeles-area neighborhoods, brings up an issue that African-American leaders repeatedly raise when talking about Obama: They say he’s worried about being too closely identified with the community that gave him inspiration and bedrock support. I have always maintained that President Obama cannot devote his attention solely to every need of the black community, but I am a little disturbed that he hasn't devoted not even a passing glance at the black community that went out in droves to support him. He cannot fix all the problems that ails this group, but he can at least show he gives a sh*t by making a predominantly black community one of his campaign stops. The bigger problem is that the Democratic Party, as a whole, is taking the black community for granted because they know most blacks will vote that way. Well, I, for one, am not beholden to any one party. I have crossed party lines to vote for Republicans and I would do it again and again, if that particular candidate embodies the issues I consider important to me. I will echo Gen. Colin Powell's sentiment that I am not sold on Barack Obama in 2012. Actually, I am not sold on anyone in the Republican Party either. I am on the fence at this juncture.

Another woman has died due to domestic violence. Dr. Jennifer Lee Wilson, 36, who was just tenured at the University of South Carolina, was found stabbed to death in her Columbia duplex on Sunday and her ex-boyfriend, Hank Eric Hawes, charged with her murder. according to the Charlotte Observer, friends of Wilson, a Fulbright scholar, said she was trying to break off any relationship she might have had with Hawes and was worried about his aggressive behavior and her safety.

She was reportedly killed at approximately 2am on Sunday, when an unidentified neighbour called police after hearing a loud ‘physical altercation going on’ and ‘furniture banging around,’ according to a police report. Wilson was inside screaming: ‘No! No! No!’ the report said. Source: Daily Mail

What a sad end to such a promising life. Dr. Wilson suffered multiple stab wounds. Hank Hawes is being held without bail in Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Domestic violence cuts across socioeconomic status and race. It is a silent killer in too many homes.

Syracuse teen Anthony Stewart will spend the next two to six years locked up in juvenile detention for robbing a 73 year old man last December, which netted him seven cents. Some people have said the sentence was too severe, considering that a jury just let a murderer, Casey Anthony, walk Scot-free for the murder of her daughter Caylee Anthony, despite the fact she said quite clearly she didn't know where her daughter was for 31 days. On the flip-side, tough love was warranted in this case. You have to nip the bad behavior in the bud before it progresses to something far more serious.

Onondaga County Judge William Walsh said on Monday that he decided to throw the book at Anthony Stewart, 15, because the teen didn't plead guilty to robbing a 73-year-old man last December. Stewart and a pal, Skyler Ninham, 16, were charged with jumping and robbing the man on Dec. 22.

The two were toting BB guns that resembled real pistols when they knocked the victim to the ground, broke his glasses and robbed him of just 7 cents - the only money the man had on him at the time, prosecutors said.

Ninham pleaded guilty in July and was sentenced to one to four years in state prison. Stewart decided to fight the case. A jury found him guilty of first-degree robbery. He'll serve time in a juvenile detention facility. Source: NY Daily News

Yes, the punishment does seem severe, but don't we have to draw the line somewhere? Maybe the sentence will save this teenager from heading down the wrong path and help him turn his life around. He and his friend were quite cognizant of their actions and their intentions were not good. On that basis, the judge had every right to throw the book at him. Now it remains to be seen if this judge exercises the same level of conduct when handing down sentences for similar cases and more serious crimes.

A source familiar with the negotiations said the deal is worth $100 million, including about $40 million guaranteed. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because terms weren't released.

Australian airline Qantas has been forced to issue an apology after one of its weak attempts at using social media backfires and was branded racist. The airline had offered two tickets to the deciding game of the Bledisloe Cup between Australia and New Zealand national rugby teams in Brisbane on Saturday night.  The Qantas Twitter giveaway promised two exclusive tickets to the game, at Suncorp Stadium, to the two fans who could best show their support for the Australian team, according to the Daily Mail.

TRAVESTY: Cynthia Greenwood and her son, Isaac Greenwood, 19, are facing charges in the sexual assault of her mentally disabled 12 year old adopted daughter, who was impregnated by her son. According to the KHOU, Ms. Greenwood, 50, took the girl to Ohio to have an abortion, investigators said. She has been charged with evidence tampering. Isaac Greenwood is charged with sexual assault of a child from impregnating the girl.

According to court documents, Cynthia Greenwood took the girl to have an abortion in Houston in early October of 2010, but the procedure wasn’t performed because the girl was too hysterical. At that point, CPS officials in Texas launched an investigation, but said Cynthia Greenwood would not provide any information as to how her daughter got pregnant.

A few weeks later, a second report was filed with CPS after the girl had an abortion at a clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. When investigators interviewed the girl, she initially said she didn’t know who’d gotten her pregnant. But, according to court documents, the girl later told investigators that her brother had assaulted her four or five times. Source

Words can't adequately express the way I feel about what happened to this girl. Cynthia Greenwood and her son, Isaac Greenwood, should be thrown under a Texas prison for the rest of their lives.

SHOCK: Naiyana Patel, 33, reportedly bludgeoned her seven and four year old daughters to death with a hatchet before attempting suicide. Why? A failed pregnancy. According to the Daily Mail, her husband, Lalji Patel, found his daughters, Jiya and Piya, dead and his wife injured on Saturday, in their Asheville, NC home. The mother was being treated for depression after her pregnancy did not reach full term.

You are one step closer to going to prison. 10 REVOLUTIONARY WAYS TO RE-THINK MARRIAGE: WAY #7: RE-THINK PHYSIOLOGICAL GENDER DIFFERENCES

Cutting straight to the chase – Cortisol! This is a term you must know, even at the rudimentary level as we consider the differences between men and women.

Cortisol, also known as the stress hormone, is just that – a hormone in both men and women that affects Oxytocin (in women) and Testosterone (in men), but knowledge of how all this affects the genders differently is helpful for the institution of marriage.

FOR WOMEN

When a woman has high levels of the hormone Cortisol it has a tendency to affect her hormone Oxytocin. For women, the Oxytocin hormone impacts their sense of peace and calmness. Known also as the “cuddle hormone,” Oxytocin in women is dwarfed when there are high levels of Cortisol in their systems.

High levels of Cortisol in women are compensated naturally in two simple ways: Talking and Cuddling.

As a woman’s cortisol levels become high the more stressed out she will become. What is the reason for this? The appearance of cortisol lowers her Oxytocin levels. To increase her oxytocin levels (and thereby dwarf her cortisol levels) a women will begin, without warning, to talk excessively. This may be problematic for a man, at first, but let me tell you – when oxytocin levels are increased in women their sexual desires correspondingly increase. Oh yeah, talking – for women – helps them to “WANT TO” as it relates to passionate lovemaking.

Here is a sure fire way to know your woman is stressed, ask her about her day. The length of her response will be the telltale sign of whether or not she is in stress. If stressed, she will begin her conversation from the moment she arose that morning until the moment just prior to your inquiry. She’ll express what went wrong with her hairstyle, make-up application difficulties, clothing fiascos, co-worker drama, unrealistic boss expectations, and everything in between.

Men, you simply asked about her day and before you know it– you are already exhausted and ready for her to just SHUT UP. But...

She needs to talk in order to increase her Oxytocin levels and decrease her Cortisol levels. When she is debriefing about her day, she is actually de-stressing herself and she will, in turn, develop natural affections for the person who helps her do so.

Another quick way to determine when a woman is stressed and therefore Oxytocin deficient – she will get cuddly.

Men, Its Monday Night and you’re trying to watch the game in she walks– sits next to you, rubs her skin next to yours, lays her head on your shoulder, starts to rub you or moves your hand to rub her. (In a non-sexual place) She begins to readjust your comfortable seating arrangement and, without words, expects you allow her to remain there undisturbed, regardless of whether or not you desire to cheer on your team.

For the most part, men don’t have a clue, hormonally, of what is going on with their women so they are quick to determine the woman is clinging in order to interrupt the game and is doing so on purpose. Many men at this point, because they are unlearned, will request their lady to“…Go somewhere…I’m trying to watch the game.” Big mistake…

FOR MEN

The Cortisol hormone affects male testosterone very differently. When Testosterone levels in men are high they are confident and on top of the world, momentarily. When Testosterone levels in men are low it is because Cortisol levels are high – this leads to feelings of stress. By nature men will seek to replace their low Testosterone in two ways – visual sexual stimulation and sugar.

Let’s start with sugar.

When men’s testosterone levels are low they will begin to desire sugar. Snacks, sodas, gum all seem plausible in an effort to get a much needed sugar rush. Sugar naturally helps a man increase his Testosterone levels and decrease his Cortisol. The problem arises when that man’s physical health is impacted by the increased levels of sugar. If he is not a physically active person the increase in sugar intake will cause great health risks. Nonetheless, when cortisol levels are high in a man – sugar becomes an immediate form of gratification.

A very health conscious man or a man on a very strict diet may be able to ward off the cravings for unhealthy sugar selections in exchange for natural and healthy ones. However, there is still no escaping the physiological need to lower Cortisol levels and increase Testosterone levels. If sugar will not do it – visual sexual stimuli will!

When a man is stressed he will begin to stimulate his testosterone with sexual imaging. Meaning, women from all walks of life become more noticeable and pornography becomes highly plausible. Women, who may, under normal circumstances be unattractive to a man, may stimulate him during this period due to a particularly attractive body part or her revealing clothing and shape. Her body type may not be what he is accustomed to liking, however, her breasts may stimulate him during this time. She may not be in his age range however he may still find her attractive visually. There are occasions when the visual imaging may be drastically halted, for example, when a very aged woman enters the visual realm. The man will typically switch gears and opt for a candy bar, soda and chips – visual sexual imaging - DENIED.

For a woman in a relationship with a man who is stressed out, yet doesn’t know how it impacts him physiologically– she can quickly determine he is a male chauvinist pig or a complete turn off because he can’t keep his eyes off other women. What she does not know is that, for the most part, he doesn’t even know he is staring, licking or biting his lips, turning his head, etc. These responses have been so natural to him that it becomes, like women talking and touching, second nature.

WHAT TO DO

As we re-think marriage I offer three challenges to the physiological gender differences.

EDUCATE MEN HOW TO UNDERSTAND STRESS IN WOMEN

Before marriage is an absolute union, men must be educated on women as best as possible regarding basic physiological differences. Many men are fighting their wives based upon issues that, if understood from a women’s physiological perspective, can be a huge advantage in marital strength, health and overall pleasure.

Understand, there is no suggestion on the table that men become LIKE women to understand women from a perspective of empathy, but to best assist their wives in these areas that are natural to her and learnable to him.

Men need to be trained about a woman’s need to talk. When he finds himself in a situation where his woman is stressed and rambling, he has three choices. One, he can be the ear she speaks to and proves worthy to love his woman towards a stress free lifestyle. Two, he can let another woman be her listening ear, but the tradeoff becomes his woman will be effected by the other woman’s need to talk also and this will create circular stress. In essence, these women become mere reciprocators of stress, passing it on to one another indefinitely. Lastly, he can allow another man to purposefully listen to her “stress-talk”, however the effects could be she will fall in love with him and adultery becomes very possible.

Men have got to know that if they are going to trigger their woman to talk – they must be willing to actively spend the time allowing her to talk. No fixing, no questions, no elaborating – just let her talk. Beware, the talking process could be a lengthy one but whatever the time needed the man ought to be willing and ready to provide because it is for the good of his woman and to the benefit of his sexual desires later.

EDUCATE WOMEN TO UNDERSTAND STRESS IN MEN

Before marriage, women need to be educated on the natural effects of stress in men. Although looking at other women or viewing pornography are not morally right – before a woman gets angry she should be trained on how to defuse this male physiological issue.

Women who want an advantage on this issue would do well to keep in their purse some type of sweet they absolutely know their man likes. So when they see his eyes wandering off – instead of getting mad, they can softly and nicely ask – “Would you like this snack I got for you?” And, he will gladly devour it.

I know right here some women may be asking – “What if he is keeping a diet and will not eat the snack?” Great question! On that note, you will need to be more creative. If he will not take the sugar he will take your visuals. Flash him, not obviously and never completely, but just enough to make his head turn or his eyes to make contact. Once he looks, don’t say nothing – just look ahead and do something else sexual like bend over slow to pick up something on the floor. Sound crazy, but it works! It will keep his attention on you and you are the reason he is fleeing stress.

EDUCATE COUPLES ON PERSONAL DISCIPLINE

Although these issues are natural, it is just as necessary that men and women are trained to discipline themselves. Women need to be able to recognize that they are talking more, not because there is a necessary need to communicate, but because she is stressed. Self-acknowledgment helps the wife to say to her husband – “Honey, I can tell by the way I am talking your ear off that I am stressed.” This can be a clue for him to better assist her because a basic need for men is the need to be needed.

Men, although there are natural ways they will go about reducing certain stressors, it is still not good to be undisciplined. There needs to be a consciousness that when a man realizes he is checking out every woman he sees or watching porn or snacking all day – something is physiologically wrong. Recognizing and personally confronting this issue causes a man to properly communicate to his wife in order to remain disciplined and considerate of his marriage.

CONCLUSION

In the end, there are natural physiological reasons why some things happen in a marriage. Our understanding these reasons and disciplining ourselves toward better resolves will benefit marriage in the long run. Men will be better for their wives during their moments of stress and vice versa. Respect will increase and a willingness to be unto your spouse what they need during these times of stress will reward other couples needing to revolutionize their marriages as well.

Hosea Feed the Hungry Charity in Tax Battle with Atlanta, Says Headquarters is a "Church" to Claim Tax Exempt Status

Does the picture below look like a church? Well, the house is owned by Martin Luther King Jr.'s Poor People's Church of Love. Um, never heard of them before, but in case you're wondering, it's a house, not a church. It's the headquarters for the Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry charity, which is run by the late civil rights leader's daughter Elizabeth Omilami. They claim it's a church and therefore isn't assessed any property taxes and has a tax exempt status.

Did I neglect to say the property is valued at $549,700 with zero taxes paid to the DeKalb County and the city of Atlanta? Well, somebody finally got the gumption to say heck no to Mrs. Omilami. The DeKalb County Board of Assessors has revoked their tax exempt status and they will have to pay taxes for the upcoming year.

Don't get me wrong, I have no beef with the organization's charitable work, but to say their headquarter is a church when it clearly states "private property" on a tree and located in the East Lake neighborhood is a slap in the face of every taxpayer in Atlanta. According to WSB-TV, the  DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office said the likely 2011 taxes on the property are $2,513.23 for the county and $7,618.84 for Atlanta for a total of $10,132.

David Schwartz Sues Webster University for Dumping Him from Graduate Program for "Lack of Empathy"

David Schwartz, 44, a former graduate student at Webster University in St. Louis, Mo., who was studying to be a family counselor, sued the school after he was dismissed from a master's degree program after it was determined that he lacked empathy.

The lawsuit claims up to $1 million in losses, seeks at least $2 million in punitive damages. Schwartz alleges the school dismissed him quickly rather than help him improve his empathy to complete the field work required for graduating.

The lawsuit was filed in St. Louis County Circuit Court last week. The student, David Schwartz, 44, of University City, had received all A's and only one C in his course work, according to a school transcript. But he was dismissed from the program on March 14 after he received a "no credit" for failing to successfully complete the practicum, in which he was to apply his class work to a real-world counseling setting.

Schwartz alleges in his lawsuit that he was deemed a poor performer after he wrote an anonymous letter to the dean criticizing a professor's teaching methods and noting the romantic relationship between that professor and an administrator. Schwartz said in an interview that he had received favorable reviews on his performance until a Feb. 24 meeting with Dr. Stacy Henning, the director of counselor education at the university, who told him he needed to improve.

In a follow-up meeting on March 3, she pointed to three taped counseling sessions that showed he "would not make a good counselor because he lacked empathy," according to the lawsuit. Source: St. Louis Tribune

If Mr. Schwartz wasn't performing as the school expected, why wasn't he offered a course or something to help him develop empathy? That's a crazy reason to kick someone out of a program, considering he must have student loans that will most certainly come due if he isn't accepted into another program or finds gainful employment in the field. Either way, it seems Webster University jumped the gun with it's one strike you're out policy.

Detroit Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley says civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. sent Hurricane Irene to shutter celebrations in unveiling of monument in Washington D.C. to "force everyone to pause and self-reflect amid racism.

I knew it was a matter of time before someone tried to find a nexus between Hurricane Irene, the earthquake that rocked the East Coast last week and the King Monument in Washington D.C. According to Detroit Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., sent the "massive storm to shutter the celebration and force everyone to pause and self-reflect amid the pervasive violence, racism and pornography in our society."

Ms. Riley wrote:

First, there was an earthquake. Then there was a hurricane. What in the world could be going on Nothing in the world. That was just Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., above the world, shutting down the celebration, getting our attention and telling us to take a good look at ourselves. If King were here today, she said, he would be “roiled with righteous anger and sadness” because of:

• Black teens running around, beating people in Philadelphia and Milwaukee flash mob violence.
• The trial of the men who beat Vincent Kee, a gentle, mentally disabled man in Albuquerque, N.M., and then branded him with a swastika.
• Black teens dropping out of schools in Detroit, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Gary, Ind., in numbers too obscene to say aloud.
• Three white men, on a mission to hurt a black person, driving to Jackson, Miss., and beating an innocent 49-year-old James Anderson, then driving their Ford F-250 pickup over him to kill him.

All of this in addition to:

• The soft-core porn that passes as programming on MTV, VH1 and BET.
• Widespread unemployment at a rate higher than in 1963 when he gave his “I Have a Dream” speech on the National Mall.
• A magazine editor calling America’s first president of color the slang word for penis on national TV.

Therefore, with this in mind, King “didn’t think we were ready to celebrate today” and instead, “the raindrops on the King monument today will represent the tears of the lions who went before and left this world hoping that better would come after.” Whenever the dedication is rescheduled for, she said, hopefully we’ll have “a better report to show.” Source: The Blaze

I guess these are words that Cornel West and Tavis Smiley would love to hear. I can't say what Dr. King's thoughts are but I do agree he would not be pleased with the self-destructive nature of some of our black youth, including those bent on perpetuating negative stereotypes, including walking around with sagging pants.

Death toll from Hurricane Irene rises to 21 across nine states, including 11 year old Zahir Robinson from Newport News & Florida high school teacher Frederick Fernandez.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people who have lost their lives during Hurricane Irene and the countless numbers of people whose homes and businesses have sustained some damage. We grieve with you. Here is a breakdown of the deceased per state:

CONNECTICUT:

- Charlotte Levine, 89, was killed early Sunday when a falling tree limb pulled power lines onto her house and started a fire in Prospect.

-Shane Seaver, 46, died after he and another man went canoeing down a flooded street and the canoe capsized in Bristol. Seaver’s body washed ashore late Sunday night in Plainville. The other man survived.

FLORIDA:

-High school teacher, Frederick Fernandez, 55, Volusia County resident, died Saturday off New Smyrna Beach after he was tossed off his board by massive waves caused by Irene. Fernandez had a large cut on his head, apparently from hitting the sea floor, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

- James Palmer, 55, resident of New Jersey died Saturday in rough surf. Family members say they lost sight of him after he waded into the surf in North Florida. He was pulled to shore and his wife attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

MARYLAND:

-Anne Bell, 85, resident of Queen Anne County, was killed when a tree knocked a chimney through the glass roof of the sunroom where she and her son were sitting.

NEW JERSEY

-Celena Sylvestri, 20, of Quinton, called her boyfriend and then 911 early Sunday seeking help getting out of her flooded car in Pilesgrove, authorities said. Sylvestri's body was found eight hours later in the vehicle, which was about 150 feet off the road, police said.

NEW YORK

- An unidentified man in his 50s was electrocuted in Spring Valley when he tried to help a child who had gone into a flooded street with downed wires. The child is listed in very serious condition at Westchester Medical Center’s burn unit.

- State police recovered the body of an unidentified woman who apparently drowned after she fell into Onesquethaw Creek in New Scotland, located not far from Albany.

-Joseph Rocco, 68, of East Islip drowned while windsurfing in Bellport Bay.

- Croton police said two men were swept down the Croton River on Sunday evening after their inflatable boat capsized, and one of them died after being pulled down river by heavy currents.

NORTH CAROLINA:

- A Nash County man was killed after a tree limb fell on him outside his home Saturday morning as outer bands from the storm brought near hurricane-force gusts inland.

- A 15-year-old girl died Saturday afternoon in Goldsboro after the SUV carrying her and family members collided with another SUV at an intersection where Irene had knocked out power to traffic lights.

- A Pitt County man was found dead in his home after Irene’s winds toppled a tree onto his house.

- A second Pitt County man was found dead after he drove through standing water, went off a road and died after striking a tree on Saturday.

- A mother in Sampson County died Saturday morning when a tree fell on a car carrying her and two family members.

-Melton Robinson Jr., a resident of New Hanover County, who had been missing since falling or jumping into the Cape Fear River as the hurricane approached NC, body was recovered Sunday afternoon.

PENNSYLVANIA

-Michael Scerarko, 44, of Stroudsburg, was killed Sunday when a tree fell on him in his yard. He pushed his son out of the way, but could not get out of the way himself, police said.

- A 58-year-old Harrisburg man was killed Sunday morning when a tree toppled onto his tent, state police said.

- A man in a camper was crushed by a tree in northeastern Pennsylvania’s Luzerne County, state emergency management officials said. Police found his body shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday.

- A motorist was killed when he lost control of his car on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Carbon County, skidded over an embankment and hit a tree. State officials attributed the accident to the storm.

VIRGINIA:

-Zahir Robinson, 11, of Newport News, was killed when a large tree crashed through his apartment shortly after noon.

-James Blackwell of Brodnax was killed after a tree fell across a car Saturday afternoon. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

- Chesterfield County police say a man died at a Hopewell hospital Saturday after a tree fell on a house that he was in.

-William P. Washington, 57, was killed when a tree fell on him as he was cutting another tree on Saturday night.

Puerto Rican police officer Emiliano Torres-Soto fatally shot after attempting to take police action off-duty in altercation outside local bar in Ponce.

Agent Emiliano Torres-Soto with the Puerto Rican Police Department, was shot and killed in Ponce while attempting to take police action when he observed an altercation while off-duty, the Officer Down Memorial Page reports.

A group of men were arguing in front of a local bar when he observed one them brandish a handgun. Agent Torres-Soto identified himself and attempted to take action when he was shot as many as 10 times by multiple gunmen. He was transported to San Cristobal Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Agent Torres-Soto had served with the Puerto Rico Police Department for 10 years and was assigned to Radio Command Ponce. He is survived by his wife, daughter, two sons, parents, and five brothers. Source

I have an affinity to the law enforcement community, having had several relatives who serve and served as police officers in Jamaica, with one dying in the line of duty.

Omar Curry, Former Belleview High School Basketball Coach, Facing Up to Life in Prison for Sex with Three Teenage Students, Fathering a Child with One

Omar Curry, a former Belleview High School basketball coach, is facing life in prison, for having sex with three teenage students and fathering a child with one of the girls. 

Omar Curry pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual battery. Since Curry, who is black, doesn't have a plea bargain in place, his sentencing will be determined by Circuit Judge Hale Stancil, according to the Ocala Star-Banner.

Curry is being held at the Marion County Jail pending sentencing. Curry pleaded guilty on Monday to three counts of sexual battery on a child by a person with custodial authority, which is a first-degree felony.

He was initially accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl on the basketball team he coached. The sex happened in the girls’ locker room at Belleview High, authorities said.

A few days after his arrest, a second girl came forward and said the two had sex in March 2008. After initially being reluctant to come forward, a third girl said she and Curry had sex in January 2008. That resulted in the birth of a child, which tests showed Curry fathered. Source

Curry also taught Social Studies at the school. Another wasted life and for what? The judge should throw him under the prison.

The mighty Usain Bolt has been beaten. If it's any consolation, he was beaten by fellow Jamaican and training partner Yohan Blake. Bolt, who was disqualified for leaving the blocks far too early, was seen grimacing and beating the wall with his hand at the meet in Daegu, South Korea.Yohan Blake won the race in 9.92 seconds ahead of U.S. runner Walter Dix. That's a tough pill to swallow and I know Usain Bolt is mad at himself. Well, it happens to the best of us.

"Drama Free" Party Advertised on Facebook & Twitter Leaves 10 Shot & 15 YO Girl Paralyzed

A house party in Jamaica, Queens, billed as "Drama Free" on Facebook and Twitter did have drama after all - the worst kind. Ten people, ranging in ages from 15 to 23 were shot mostly in the legs, arms, hands and feet, with one girl, 15, nicknamed "Frenchie," shot in the back. She is paralyzed from waist down and is listed in stable condition in a Jamaica hospital.

The party was given by Allan Dawkins, who charged male attendees $3 a head and females $1. He threw the party in honor of his sister Florence Disney. She was moving to the Maryland area.

Active Duty Soldier John Leonard Egland Wanted for Murders During Hurricane Irene

John Leonard Egland, who is an Army captain, reportedly killed his former or estranged wife Carrie Egland, her boyfriend and his young son, as well as his mother-in-law, Barbara Ruehl.

As Hurricane Irene bore down on the East Coast active duty soldier John Leonard Egland, stationed at Fort Lee army base, went on a killing spree, killing as many as four people from Virginia to Bucks County, Pa., also shooting two police officers.

There, authorities say, Egland broke into the two-story home of his former mother-in-law around 9 p.m. Saturday and shot her to death as she sat in her easy chair. The victim has been identified as Barbara Ruehl, 66, of the 3400 block of Church School Road.

Ruehl, a widow, was the mother of Carrie Egland, 36, who had been married to Leonard Egland, and is believed to be among the slaying victims in Virginia.

After Ruehl's shooting, Leonard Egland and his daughter surfaced at St. Luke's Hospital in Quakertown, Heckler said, where he apparently tried to leave his daughter and a note that hinted at suicide.

"Presumably he had grabbed his daughter from his ex-wife when he killed her," Heckler said. At the hospital, "he asks to have her looked at, leaves a note and starts walking out." Source

It is amazing that men like John Leonard Egland can turn on the charm for the world and be a monster in the home. If you come in contact with this man, call the police right away because he is armed and dangerous. He may have very well killed himself already for these unspeakable and senseless acts.

Do you find this picture racist? I don't but it's rather hypocritical and laughable that Rush Limbaugh's brother, David Limbaugh, could knock President Barack Obama for his lack of military service when his predecessor managed to dodge serving because of his family's wealth and power. WTTG-TV reporter Tucker Barnes gave live updates on Hurricane Irene from Ocean City, Md., covered in sea foam that may have contained raw sewage, how much danger will reporters put themselves in or how far will they go just to cover a story?

How far will a news reporter go to get a story? Well, Tucker Barnes, WTTG-TV reporter from Washington D.C. got covered with what may have been raw sewage as he gave live hurricane reports from Ocean City, MD, Saturday.

WTTG-TV reporter Tucker Barnes was providing live updates for stations around the country as a wall of what he described as sea foam poured over him. Barnes was on the boardwalk as Hurricane Irene hit the coast of Maryland.

He noted that he had immersed himself in organic material. That "organic material" was most likely the effects of raw sewage pouring into the water during the storm.

"It doesn't taste great," he said. He said it had a sandy consistency and added, "I can tell you first-hand, it doesn't smell great." The foam is often a toxic mix of pollution and cyanobacteria. 60 mph wind gust sprayed the toxic mix across the reporter and the boardwalk and coated buildings. Bubbles and foam in the ocean can be caused by several other things, including oils from decomposing animals. Source

That's just plain nasty and I am sure he was must scared sh*tless as to whether or not he will develop a reaction to some of the sewage he most likely ingested.

Stetson Kennedy, Author & Folklorist Who Infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan 60 Years Ago, Dies at Age 94

Stetson Kenney, the man who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan 60 years ago and exposed its secrets to authorities and the public, died Saturday. He was 94.

In the 1940s, Kennedy used the "Superman" radio show to expose and ridicule the Klan's rituals. In the 1950s he wrote "I Rode with the Ku Klux Klan," which was later renamed "The Klan Unmasked," and "The Jim Crow Guide."

"Exposing their folklore — all their secret handshakes, passwords and how silly they were, dressing up in white sheets" was one of the strongest blows delivered to the Klan, said Peggy Bulger, director of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, in a 2007 interview with The Associated Press. She was a friend of Kennedy for about 30 years and did her doctoral thesis on his work as a folklorist. "If they weren't so violent, they would be silly."

Kennedy began his crusades against what he called "homegrown racial terrorists" during World War II after he was deemed unworthy for military service because of a back injury. He served as director of fact-finding for the southeastern office of the Anti-Defamation League and served as director of the Anti-Nazi League of New York. Source

Kennedy, who was receiving hospice care at a facility near St. Augustine, will be remembered as the man who aired the KKK's dirty secrets to the world through the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Anti-Defamation League and Drew Pearson, a columnist for the Washington Post newspaper.

Puerto Rican Sen. Roberto Arango Neither Confirms Nor Denies Posting Nude Photos of Himself on Gay Site Grindr

Puerto Rican lawmaker Roberto Arango won't confirm or deny nude photos posted on gay site Grindr are of him, another lawmaker with too much free time on his hands.

When will lawmakers with a penchant for snapping pictures of themselves realize they will literally torpedo their political careers by posting "questionable" pictures online? Enter Puerto Rican Sen. Roberto Arango, whose alleged nude photographs appeared on the gay meet-up site Grindr and were exposed last week? Why? Why? Why?

According to Hispanic gossip site Guanabee, a Puerto Rican TV station first aired the pictures last Friday, supposedly downloaded from the popular cruising app.

One photo thought to be of Arango depicts a bare-chested man posing in front of a mirror, using his cell phone to take the picture. Can you say Reps. Anthony Weiner and Christopher Lee?

Another photograph is a direct shot of Arango bending over, exposing his rear end. Arango is either stupid or bold because when asked he neither confirmed nor denied they were his, instead said:

“You know I’ve been losing weight. As I shed that weight, I’ve been taking pictures. I don‘t remember taking this particular picture but I’m not gonna say I didn’t take it. I‘d tell you if I remembered taking the picture but I don’t.”

Pastor Juanita Bynum, the self-proclaimed face of domestic violence victims, not only speaks in tongues, but types in tongues on social media platforms as well, further taking the church down a slippery slope in the U.S.

I must admit, when my Facebook friend Donna Williams posted Juanita Bynum's typing in tongues, I just chuckled and shook my head. But on closer examination of this mess, it bears some comments. Juanita Bynum seems to be taking social media to a whole other level. I thought when you spoke in tongues it was in an undecipherable language, so how can one type in tongues? Then they wonder why church membership is dwindling across the United States.

You will notice that this started out as a prayer before it sunk into a hot mess. If this is the trend the church is taking, then God will unleash more of His wrath on the U.S. in a matter of time.

Mennonite-Affiliated Goshen College Bans National Anthem, President Jim Brenneman Says "Words are too Violent"

In the continuing quest of some to dumb-down America, Goshen College in Indiana, has banned the "The Star Spangled Banner": at all sporting events because the Mennonite school's President Jim Brenneman considers the words to be too violent.

The 1,000-student school had already banned the words last year, but the band could still play the music for patriots in attendance. Now, the school has banned the song entirely, according to NBC Sports.

The school’s board of directors told college President Jim Brenneman to “find an alternative to playing the National Anthem that fits with sports tradition, that honors country and that resonates with Goshen College’s core values and respects the views of diverse constituencies.” Source

GA Woman Priscilla Johnson Charged with Killing Two Teens with Car While Driving Under the Influence & Talking on Cellphone

Priscilla Johnson facing litany of charges, including DUI, red light violation, hit and run, after she hit three teens, killing two, on metro-Atlanta highway while talking on the cellphone.

Priscilla Johnson should be tossed in prison and the key thrown away in the deaths of two teenagers who she mowed down on a Clayton County, Ga., street on Thursday while driving under the influence and talking on a cell phone. That's a deadly combination. According to MyFoxAtlanta, Johnson, 48, swerved into the emergency lane and struck three teens walking along Highway 138 Thursday afternoon. One teen died at the scene, while another died after being airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Other charges Johnson faces are two counts of homicide by motor vehicle, hit and run, no proof of insurance, a red light violation, driving with a suspended license, and obstruction of a police officer. Police say the three teens ranged in age from 17 to 19. The names of the victims have not been released. Source

This could have been avoided and is a travesty. Priscilla Johnson doesn't need a slap on the wrist. She needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The third teen is listed in critical condition. Isn't it typical that the drivers in these situations are rarely hurt as a result of their actions?

UPDATE#1: The deceased teens have been identified as Antonious Bishop, 16, who died at the scene. Octavius Sorrells, 17, was pronounced dead at Grady Hospital a few hours later, and Timothy Aaron, who turns 18 on Sept. 25, remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Why is Bishop T.D. Jakes coming to New Birth Missionary Baptist Church to deliver the sermon on the 24-year-anniversary of Bishop Eddie L. Long's service to the church, when the sexual coercion scandal and subsequent lawsuit brought by Spencer LeGrande, Jamal Parris, Maurice Robinson and Anthony Flagg is still raging in the media? What T.D. Jakes is doing is interjecting himself in an explosive and serious issue by taking sides with Bishop Eddie Long. For me, his decision to deliver the sermon on August 28, 2011, says he has accepted what happened with these young men and he has chosen Bishop Long's version of the chain of events. In other words, he, like Creflo Dollar, has got Eddie L. Long's back. That's bad and he has now put himself in an awkward position. We will be live-blogging Sunday's sermon to hear exactly with Bishop Jakes will say. Stay tuned.

UPDATE#1: Bishop Long issued a statement basically saying nothing. He won't counter the revelations of Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande made during their interviews with WSB-TV, but instead said he was focused on his ministry. His congregation is owed an explanation of some sort. By his actions and continued silence, he is validating the claims made by these young men. So, are the members of New Birth content with that their pastor could be a predator and a closet homosexual, as well as on of the biggest black hypocrites the pulpit has seen in recent years?

Rev. Markel Hutchins Sues Estate of Kathryn Johnston for Nearly $500,000, Claims He Had a Verbal Agreement with Sarah Dozier

Rev. Markel Hutchins' image gets a second black eye after he sues the estate of 92-year-old Kathryn Johnston, who was killed in a botched police raid on her northwest Atlanta home, alleges her niece Sarah Dozier verbally agreed to pay him 10% of any money awarded by city of Atlanta.

Rev. Markel Hutchins, who once ran against civil rights stalwart John Lewis, is in the news again and, quite frankly, it's a sad turn of events in a seemingly tempestuous life. He is suing the estate of Kathryn Johnston, the elderly Atlanta woman who was killed in a botched police raid in her northwest Atlanta home. According to the AJC, Hutchins, who was the spokesman for the 92 year old woman's family, is suing her estate for nearly $500,000. He alleges that there was a verbal agreement that he would get 10 percent of the $4.9 million awarded to the estate, represented by Johnston's niece, Sarah Dozier, by the city of Atlanta. Yeah, we can see quite clearly who Markel Hutchins' god is -- money.

Under the structure of the 2010 settlement, the estate got $3 million immediately and will get another $1.9 million in fiscal year 2012.

"I served as the family and Estate's spokesperson, strategist, advisor and consultant with a clear understanding of how I would be compensated," Hutchins said in a statement Thursday night. "My staff and I holistically managed the public and private efforts that made the significant settlement possible and yielded Mrs. Johnston's heirs millions of dollars. I literally risked my own safety and security to advance the cause of the Estate of Kathryn Johnston and expended considerable resources of my own with no reimbursement or remuneration to date." Look, I don't know where this will end up or how, but it sends the wrong message, again, about Markel Hutchins, that he's all about money. Since he lost against John Lewis he became embroiled in the mess with the SCLC and the power struggle against Bernice King, the daughter of the group's founder, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. So much so that he welded the doors of the Atlanta office shut. He was eventually smacked down by a court of law, but the stain he left with that mess is indelible. So now he's suing the estate of this woman, who died in a hail of bullets during a raid on her home. So, all that he did for the family wasn't from the goodness of his heart, but because of the prospects of the family making money from her death. Shameful.

Desi Wade, Black DOD Contracting Officer, Arrested by FBI Agents for Accepting $95,000 in Cash Bribe

WHAT A FOOL: Desi Wade, a contracting officer with the U.S. Department of Defense, was arrested by FBI agents in a bribery sting in Atlanta on Wednesday night.

The suspect is accused of influencing an Afghan-based contractor to make bribery payments to him in return for guarantees of continued work by way of contracts in Afghanistan. Documents obtained by Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne showed the FBI arrested Desi Wade after he accepted $95,000 in cash in a hotel room in Atlanta. The FBI has recovered the $95,000.
