Well, Obama chicken fingers have landed in Germany. According to Spiegel Online International, a German frozen food company, Sprehe, hopes to raise sales with a new product: Obama fingers. The tender, fried chicken bits come with a tasty curry sauce. The company says it was unaware of the possible racist overtones of the product.
Never mind the negative drum beats this frozen food may garner from front page publicity. There is a never-ending stream of Obama products and I think some are well-intentioned, while others are just downright racist. I guess the best poster child around today is President Barack Obama.
I guess Sprehe didn't want to miss the boat on cashing in on the likeness of President Obama. The new product is called "Obama Fingers." Fried chicken. How stereotypical. This company runs the risk of being called racially insensitive because we all know the association that has been made about African Americans and fried chicken by some shallow and racist folks.
