Sarah Gronert, 22, Professional Tennis Player from Germany, Struggling to Answer Whether She is Male or Female

I have heard of some crazy things in the news, but I can't understand what the big dust-up is with Sarah Gronert, a 22-year-old professional tennis player from Germany who desperately wants to compete in the woman's tour. You see she has been the victim of sometimes downright cruel scrutiny. Why? She is no ordinary young lady. She was born with male and female genitalia.

Sarah Gronert finds that her coaches and fellow tennis players have strong and rather insulting opinions of her 'gender', despite the fact that she is medically certified a woman after having her male genitalia removed, and is struggling to be accepted into the woman's tour. I cannot understand why people resort to insults when something or someone is contrary to them or their beliefs.

Gronert recently returned to tennis after almost abandoned her talent and career three years ago for the very same reasons - constant criticism and alienation because of the way she was born. Some have said that she hits the ball like a man, with more power than even Venus Williams (which can be construed as a dig against Williams). Folks, is this all these people have to argue about? The woman is not responsible for the fact that she was both with both male and female genitalia. Sorry, if she is certified as a woman, then dang, she is!
