George Huguely, University of Virginia Lacrosse Player, Charged with 1st Degree Murder in Death of Yeardley Love

University of Virginia lacrosse player, George Huguely, charged with murder in death of fellow student Yeardley Love.

George Huguely, a University of Virginia lacrosse player, has been charged with first degree murder in the death of Yeardley Love, also a lacrosse player. According to media reports, the two were in a relationship, and are both seniors at the university, according to Charlotte Daily-Progress.

Police were called to an off-campus apartment around 2:15 a.m. Monday about a possible alcohol overdose. The cause of death has not been determined, but officials said Love's body showed signs of physical trauma.

Huguely is being held in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim. Domestic violence is a problem of untold proportions.
