Tragedy has struck the ranks of law enforcement once again. One police officer has been killed and four others wounded in a barrage of shots early Monday morning in Detroit. According to Detroit News, police received a call either about a breaking and entering or shots fired at an abandoned duplex at about 3:30 a.m. As officers approached the yellow brick building, described as a drug house, they were met with gunfire, which killed the unidentified officer, who was a 12-year veteran of the force and a married father of a son.The four other wounded officers were taken to St. John Hospital and are expected to recover. The suspected gunman was also wounded and was taken to the same hospital. I hope he will survive to face justice.
