Mel Gibson's Wife of 28 Years, Robyn Moore Gibson, Files Legal Papers to Divorce the Actor, Cites Irreconcilable Differences

According to TMZ, actor Mel Gibson's wife, Robyn Moore Gibson, has just filed legal papers to divorce the actor, to whom she has been married for 28 years, citing, "irreconcilable differences." TMZ is also reporting that Mrs. Gibson signed the papers the day before Good Friday. Sources tell TMZ that there is no prenuptial agreement -- they were married in 1980, before Mel Gibson amassed a fortune estimated at $900 million back in 2006. As you know, under California laws, community property, which includes earnings, is divided 50/50.

The Gibsons have seven children, but only one is a minor. In Robyn's legal papers, filed this morning in L.A. County Superior Court, she seeks joint physical and legal custody of Tom, 10. Robyn is also asking for spousal support and attorneys fees. Robyn lists the date of separation as "to be determined." I don't know why these people get married because it always ends in divorce. Well, I guess they deserve a little credit. They managed to keep it together for 28 years, or so it seems.
