Murdered Former NFL Quarterback Steve McNair Didn't have a Will, Probate Courts Grants Wife, Mechelle McNair's, Request to Oversee Estate

Mechelle McNair, wife of slain former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, has been granted permission by Davidson County Probate Judge Randy Kennedy, to oversee his estate since he did not have a will. Judge Kennedy gave her 60 days to file an inventory of her late husband's assets. In court documents, she said she did not know how much he was worth, but documents contend that it is "of sufficient size to be administered."

You will recall that McNair was shot to death by his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, who later shot herself to death. Nashville police have ruled it a murder-suicide.

Mechelle McNair listed herself and her two sons, Tyler and Trenton McNair, as the heirs to the estate. McNair also has two other sons from a previous relationship. I am surprised that this man didn't have a will. You would think his lawyer(s) would see to it that he had one in place.
