Tom Daschle Withdraws Bid for Health & Human Services Secretary, Free From Tom At Last

Thomas Daschle, besieged by questions about unpaid taxes and his work for health care firms, withdrew his nomination Tuesday to be secretary of Health and Human Services.

He was the second Obama nominee to withdraw Tuesday. Nancy Killefer, Obama's pick for the new chief performance officer, also withdrew, also over unpaid taxes.

All I can say is, free from Tom, free from Tom. Thank God almighty, we are free from Tom Daschle. To the IRS, he is all yours!
