Mark Sanford, South Carolina Governor, Apologizes to Wife, Staff, Others, Says He Has Been Cheating on Wife with Woman in Argentina

Major bombshell. South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, apologizing to his wife, children, staff, “and anybody who lives in South Carolina,” says he’s been unfaithful to his wife and has been in a relationship with another woman in Argentina. This is a major bombshell and another Republican bites the dust due to infidelity.

Well, he can kiss any chances of being a Republican Party presidential goodbye. These guys are such hypocrites. They are ever so critical of President Obama, yet they can't remain faithful to their wives. That speaks volumes about their integrity and their commitment to their families. He is serving his second straight term as governor, which expires in January 2011. The state constitution prohibits a third straight term. He should resign as governor immediately because this is a disgrace. These cheaters are coming out of the wood work like a colony of ants. I am dying to see how the GOP will spin this latest revelation. The GOP is collapsing like a tower of dominoes. Shameful and hypocritical. An investigation should be launched to see whether he used state funds to go on his South American escapade.

I will just end my post with some of the lyrics to "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" in a shot out to Gov. Sanford for being a hypocrite and a cheat:

Archibishop Earl Paulk, Whose Leadership of One Time Atlanta-Megachurch Ended Due to Sex Scandal, Dies Early Sunday

Bishop Earl Paulk Jr., dies in disgrace after building a megachurch in Atlanta and mentoring pastors like Eddie L. Long & Clarence McClendon.

Archbishop Earl Paulk has died. You will recall that the evangelical pastor's leadership of one-time megachurch the Cathedral at Chapel Hill ended in a sex scandal when Mona Brewer filed a lawsuit alleging that the two had engage in an adulterous relationship spanning 14 years.

Atlanta Medical Center said Archbishop Earl Paulk, who was in his 80s, died early Sunday. The hospital could not release a cause of death, but he had been in bad health for the past couple of years after a battle with cancer.

Paulk co-founded the Cathedral at Chapel Hill in Decatur and helped grow it to a peak membership of about 10,000 in the early 1990s, until all the sex scandals started driving people away.

A lawsuit by Mona and Bobby Brewer (who are separated, maybe divorced by now), sparked a chain of events that ended in Paulk pleading guilty in January 2008 to lying under oath by denying affairs with other women. A paternity test revealed Paulk was the father of his nephew, Donnie Earl Paulk, who is now leader of the church. That was a whole lot of drama in and of itself. I hope Archbishop Paulk found peace in his final hours and confessed his sins. He misled way too many people for too long. Personally the man was a lecherous scumbag who betrayed even his own wife and cheated on her repeatedly. He was a good preacher, but he was truly a wolf in sheep's clothing. I hope it is well with his soul.

New Jersey thinks that mistresses may be entitled to palimony payments after the breakup

In a decision described as the first of its type in the nation, the state Supreme Court ruled yesterday that a couple does not have to live together in order for one partner to sue the other for palimony after a breakup. The high court ruled that judges should consider the "entirety" of a couple's relationship, and that cohabitation is only one factor in deciding whether they had a "marital-type relationship." First of all, if you are married you shouldn't have a woman or man on the side to begin with. However, if you are stupid enough to do so, then you deserve whatever you get.

Despite my contempt for those who choose to destroy their families with infidelity, it is completely ludicrous that the person on the side should be entitled to anything after a breakup! This whole concept is just crazy and undermines all that is sacred about the committed religious and legal union of marriage.

In the unfortunate event that a child results from this unholy pairing, then by all means the CHILD should be supported by child support paid by the parent. However, the person on the side deserves nothing!

I liken awarding a mistress palimony akin to giving a bank robber his cut of the booty after being caught during the heist. It is just crazy!
