John Katehis, 16, Reportedly Confesses to Murdering WABC Newsman George Weber in Rough Sex Gone Violent

John Katehis, 16, NY Post

Well, the hot mess in the death of WABC newsman George Weber just took a turn for the worst. John Katehis, a 16 year-old teen, has confessed to stabbing him during a drugged-up date with the older man. According to the NY Daily News, the emotionally disturbed teenager was arrested early this morning after he made the admission to cops that he answered an ad Weber placed on the Internet seeking a partner for rough sex. What a creep.
"He saw the victim's ad looking for violent sex and said "I can smother somebody for $60" but it got out of hand," a source said. The teen admitted he stabbed Weber, but couldn't remember how many times because he "blanked out" during the violent, drug-fueled assault. The teen was in custody this morning at Brooklyn's 76th Precinct.

Cops found the suspect by combing through Weber's e-mail and Web browser history and tracking calls he made from his cell phone, sources said.

The teen answered Weber's ad on craigslist, an Internet Web site. The two met in Brooklyn early Friday evening and then returned to the newsman's Carroll Gardens brownstone apartment under the premise of engaging in sadomasochistic acts, sources said. Weber, whose ankles were bound with duct tape, was stabbed repeatedly in a frenzied attack that sprayed the walls with blood.

"Jordy loved and its people, particularly his Carroll Gardens neighborhood. The outpouring of support by his friends and neighbors is a blessing to us and a testimony to his character." Source: NY Daily News
I just love how people laud praises on some folks when they die. He was a predator, if he solicited a teen for sex. Mr. Weber is a grown man who should have known better than to pick up men and teens for sex from the Internet. He was asking for trouble and he got it. To think that he allowed himself to be taped and bound by a stranger speaks volumes. Trolling the web for a S&M score is far from smart. So all the folks can keep lauding praise his way. He was a freak and a wolf in sheep's clothing. Furthermore, Craigslist has lost all credibility with me. Their name keeps popping up in the middle of the most sordid and salacious occurrences. John Katehis, it is a real tragedy that you could be so violent and cruel at such a young age. You need to be given the death penalty for killing this man.

La. Governor Bobby Jindal Jokes About Torture in His Response to President Obama's News Conference

The Republican Party still hasn't learned from the Bobby Jindal debacle the last time President Obama spoke to the nation. This time Jindal may have been a little better, but he put his foot in his mouth when he joked about torture. He insulted so many people in this country. At a $2,500 per plate dinner, he opened his speech by poking fun at himself. He threatened to deliver a reprise of the earlier performance he gave and yes, he went there. He compared it to torture. "They're not allowed to show my speech at Gitmo anymore," he said. "They've banned that." Is this guy serious? Who in their right mind finds torture funny?saying Republicans must be ready to defy the president when they disagree with his policies. He also joked about his widely panned response to Obama's address to Congress last month.

"We are now in the position of being the loyal opposition," Jindal said at a Republican congressional fundraising dinner that only by coincidence fell on the same night as the president's news conference. "The right question to ask is not if we want the president to fail or succeed, but whether we want America to succeed." "The time for talking about the past is over," Jindal said Republicans have begun to find their voice after back-to-back elections losses -- motivated by what he called historic Democratic spending excess. Funny, wasn't the Republicans in control for most of President's Bush's tenure in office? Once again, he got his facts wrong.

The news conference the president gave was boring, but Jindal is still the reigning champion for giving another boring delivery.

Cardinal Newman Society Collects Nearly 65,000 Signatures Protesting President Barack Obama's Upcoming Notre Dame Commencement Address

Another day, another dust-up involving President Obama. According to media reports, nearly 65,000 people have signed an online petition protesting his scheduled May 17 commencement address at the University of Notre Dame. Why? They are saying that his views on abortion and stem cell research "directly contradict" Roman Catholic teachings. The Cardinal Newman Society spearheaded the drive to collect signatures. The advocacy group's petition states that to "bestow such an honor on President Obama given his clear support for policies and laws that directly contradict fundamental Catholic teachings on life and marriage."

The petition, which had garnered 64,051 signatures as of midday Tuesday, asserts that thousands of other "accomplished leaders" in business, law or education would have been more appropriate selections. Right. I am sure their images are all impeccable and without any flaws.
George Weigel, a Catholic theologian and distinguished senior fellow of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, said the invitation is not a "neutral act" and will significantly damage Notre Dame's reputation in Catholic circles following Obama's decision to reverse restrictions on embryonic stem cell research and for family planning groups that provide abortions.

"I think Notre Dame should not have issued the invitation," Weigel told FOXNews.com. "This is a colossal mess. This is their mess to fix right now, but they should know that they have forfeited an enormous amount of credibility as an institution that takes moral reasoning seriously."

Weigel said he was not surprised by the outpouring of criticism following the university's announcement on Friday that Obama would become sixth U.S. president to speak at its commencement. Obama will also become the ninth U.S. president to receive an honorary degree from the university. Source: Faux News
Well, let's see if Notre Dame University will rescind its invitation or stand its ground. I would love to see the Roman Catholic Church throw the same weight around where other social issues are concerned and will vehemently take a stand. It seems that they didn't have a big issue when President George W. Bush gave the commencement address in 2001. Funny, didn't he go to war in Iraq on a bare-faced lie?

China and Russia say NO to U.S. Dollar's domination

Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People's Bank of China, has made a proposal that the U.S. dollar no longer be the world's standard currency:
"Moving to a reserve currency that belongs to no individual nation would make it easier for all nations to manage their economies better, he argued, because it would give the reserve-currency nations more freedom to shift monetary policy and exchange rates. It could also be the basis for a more equitable way of financing the IMF, Mr. Zhou added. China is among several nations under pressure to pony up extra cash to help the IMF." This should come as no surprise to the U.S., considering that our avoidable economic crisis has sent shockwaves throughout the world economy. The message is clear:

Dear United States,

We have no intention of continuing to foot the bill for your fiscal irresponsibility. However, we will continue to buy your debt as you scramble to say afloat. And one day when you come knocking for more money, the answer will be NO. At that point we will have no choice but to start the biggest fire sale in history.

Sincerely,

The People's Republic of China
