Gerald Celente Predicts "Obamageddon" in 2012, Says We'll See Food Riots, Tax Protest,

Have you heard? Obamageddon is coming in 2012. At least that's what Gerald Celente is telling anyone who will listen. Celente is the man who is credited with predicting the 1987 stock market crash, the fall of the Soviet Union, the Dot.com bust, the Gold Bull Market, among others. This time, he has set his sights on America. He says that by 2012, the same year when the Mayan calendar ends, we will see food riots, tax protests, farmer rebellions, student revolts, squatter dig-ins, homeless uprising, mob rule and just plain terror. He mentions the Obama administration and said, "while the decline has been decades in the making, the acceleration of ruinous policies under the current Administration is leading the United States – and much of the world – to the point of no return."

The “green shoots” sighted by Field Marshall Bernanke this past Spring were a mirage. The 2010 economic “recovery” predicted by the same experts, authorities and financial boy scouts and cheerleaders who didn’t see the economic crisis coming is pure delusion.

We are, indeed, living in perilous times and it's becoming harder for one not to worry about tomorrow. President Obama and his administration have said that there are some green shoots of economic recovery, but the opposite seems to be true. Consumer spending remains low and unemployment rates continue to climb -- hovering around 9.5 percent. The value of the dollar dropped significantly at the end of June, with India now joining China and Russia in questioning the dominance of the U.S. dollar. It seems that faith in the dollar as a global reserve currency has eroded at an alarming rate. Many economists are predicting the death of the dollar, though you would never know it, considering the government has been printing more money to keep the ailing economy afloat. The global reserve currency issue will be heavily debated during the upcoming G8 Summit.

Gerald Celente, after years in politics and lobbying, founded The Trends Research Institute in 1980. The Trends Research Institute publishes the Trends Journal, a publication that identifies, forecasts and analyzes business, socioeconomic, political, consumer, environmental and other trends. The purpose and focus of the Trends Journal is to inform readers of future trends and provide strategies on how to prepare and profit from what lies ahead.

Though I believe that it's not fair to call any impending economic upheaval "Obamageddon," it seems Mr. Celente has made some very accurate predictions in the past and his latest predictions should not be readily dismissed. President Obama has been in office a little under seven months and it is very unfair to lay the blame for the economic quagmire squarely at his feet. There is a lot of blame to go around for the previous administrations, most notably, President George W. Bush, and the years of gluttony that the United States engaged in. The reality is that the high-rolling lifestyle has finally caught up with us. Celente has been praised by public figures and publications such as Oprah Winfrey, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Miles O'Brien, The Economist and many others. So, I guess 2012 will be a big year -- with Obamageddon and the ancient Mayan doomsday. He should have called this Repubilcanaggedon instead.

Seismologist Gioacchino Giuliani Predicted Deadly Earthquake Would Strike L'Aquila, Weeks Before Monday's Quake, Muzzled by Authorities

Resident Maria Francesco told AFP: "It was the apocalypse, our house collapsed. It's destroyed, and there's nothing left to recover." The devastation in the wake of an earthquake that struck L'Aquila, Italy, is heartbreaking and horrific. What I find interesting, however, is how easily warnings are shrugged off by the relevant authorities. There were dire warnings about terrorist attacks prior to September 11, 2001, but they were shrugged off. Then the same people are shocked beyond words when the warnings materialize.

Seismologist Gioacchino Giuliani had predicted that a deadly earthquake would strike L'Aquila, Italy, weeks before Monday's quake, but was muzzled by officials, Reuters reported. He was reportedly forced to take his findings off the Internet and was reported to police for "spreading alarm," according to Reuters. Last month, vans with loudspeakers reportedly drove around L'Aquila telling residents to evacuate their houses.

According to Reuters, Giuliani based his prediction on the levels of radon gas around seismically active areas. But the head of the National Geophysics Institute downplayed Giuliani's prediction. "Every time there is an earthquake there are people who claim to have predicted it," Enzo Boshci told Reuters. "As far as I know nobody predicted this earthquake with precision. I don't know if he could have prevented the devastation, but more lives could have quite possibly been saved if they had heeded his warnings, instead of muzzling him. We have seen this very mindset being played over in our society repeatedly. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. I have experienced two tremors -- one in New York City in the late 1980s and one in Jamaica during the late 1970s and that was a scary thing. I can well imagine how these people must feel. I hope Silvio Berlusconi won't put his foot in his mouth during this tragedy. The last thing Italy needs is drama from him. Isn't it ironic that this 6.3-magnitude quake struck 60 miles north-east of Rome and during Holy Week?

Everybody's a seer these days. Looking into the future and saying how Barack Obama will perform as the next president. According to the LA Times, Leland Freeborn of Parowan has predicted that Barack Obama won't be the next president. He claims his prophecy is grounded in religious truth. Right.

"I think that you should hear what my opinion about the Obama election is: that he will not be the next president. I said on my home page in August that if he lost to expect to see the 'riots' that 2 Peter 2:13 tells us about. He didn't lose. But the story is not finished yet. I still think they may begin the riots before Christmas 2008, as I said."

These riots, according to his prophecy, will encourage the "old, hard-line Soviet guard" to seize the moment and rain down nukes on the United States, killing at least 100 million of us. Freeborn, now 66, took "a plural wife," as he put it, and parted ways with the church. He forfeited his wealth, spreading word of his prophecies. He appears to live now mainly on sales of newsletters and survival information packets advertised on his website.

Why am I not surprised that polygamy is still on the table for them. I am guessing that Barack Obama is so weak and tainted that he will not be sworn in on January 20th. Right. Just another person trying to cast seeds of doubt about Obama's historic win.
