Right Wing Evangelical Pat Robertson Says President Obama "Inciting People to Revolt"

Pat Robertson says President Barack Obama "inciting people to revolt" in Occupy Wall Street protests all over the country.

Right wing evangelical wingnut Pat Robertson is spewing venom again. This time he accuses President Barack Obama of inciting the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters. Really Pat?
Today on The 700 Club, Pat Robertson told fellow anchorman Lee Webb that President Obama is behind the Occupy Wall Street protests and “is inciting people to revolt.” After discussing recent demonstrations against austerity plans in Greece, Webb predicted that the Occupy Wall Street protesters won’t turn violent but only because winter is soon approaching. Robertson, who last week called the Occupy Wall Street activists “clowns” and “nuts” who needed to “blow off steam,” said that “the match to the kindling is being provided by our noble president.” Source: Right Wing Watch
Is it me or has this wingnut overstayed his welcome? So, who incited the "Tea Party" to rally?

San Francisco Bankers Thomas Wu, Ebrahim Shabudin & Thomas Yu First TARP Recipients to be Charged with Fraud

San Francisco bankers, United Commerical Bank CEO Thomas Wu & vice presidents Ebrahim Shabudin, Thomas Yu, first recipients of TARP funds to be charged with fraud.

Three San Francisco bank executives are facing lengthy prison sentences if found guilty for trying to defraud the government over its TARP funds. United Commercial Bank CEO Thomas Wu and vice presidents Ebrahim Shabudin and Thomas Yu are being charged with cooking their books and lying to auditors before accepting $298 million in taxpayer bailout funds, according to the San Francisco Examiner.
"Shabudin and Yu are the first senior executives of a TARP bank charged in connection with a scheme to defraud investors, which included the Treasury, and by extension the American taxpayer," acting TARP Special Inspector General Christy Romero said in a statement. In 2008 the bank received $298 million from then President George W. Bush's Troubled Asset Relief Program. A year later, the bank filed for bankruptcy and now the government is alleging its executives hid the true state of United Commercial Bank from the government in the lead up to receiving a bailout. An attorney for the executives said his clients are innocent and they are simply being used as scapegoats. Source
So, I guess the Occupy Wall Street movement just got their poster children. Since the actions of these three point to a bigger issue of greed on Wall Street and in the financial arena.

Occupy The Hood Movement Gaining Steam, Will it Rally Blacks Like the Civil Rights Movement Did in the 1960s?

Occupy the Hood movement gains steam, but will it become a catalyst for a new "civil rights movement" that doesn't just focus on Wall Street but on local issues confronting blacks and Latinos?

The Occupy Wall Street movement is attracting blacks in the form of "Occupy the Hood." The Oakland movement was started by Malik Rhasaan, 39, from Queens, NY, and Ife Johari Uhuru, who is based in Detroit, according to the Loop 21. @OccupyTheHood also has 5,713 followers on Twitter. The group seeks to educate and empower blacks and Latinos to get up and fight for what they believe in. I will say that it is a noble cause and I hope the movement continues to rally African Americans across the country. Our struggle isn't only limited to the shenanigans on Wall Street. It starts in our communities. It's time to say no to the escalating gun violence in predominantly black communities. It's time to say enough to absentee fathers. It's time to say no to broken homes. It's time to say no to high school drop out rates and it's time to say no to economic repression. It's time to say yes to personal responsibility and making the right choices for our kids and teaching them to make the right choices. It's time to say no to gangs and the no-snitch mentality.

Political Activist Dick Gregory Says Occupy Wall Street Similar to 1960s Civil Rights Movement, Police Violence Will Lead to Mass Protest

Political activist and comic Dick Gregory says Occupy Wall Street movement bears resemblance to 1960s civil rights movement and police violence will catapult it into a mass protest.

Comic and political activist Dick Gregory said the "Occupy Wall Street demonstrations are "reminiscent of the 1960s civil rights movement and police violence will catapult it into a mass protest." Personally, I never lived in this country during the 1960s so I can't speak for the similarities, but it seems to me that the struggle then was against discrimination and the fight for equality.
"Listening to this is like listening to the early days of the civil rights movement. What's going to really tip it off, is a cop is going to make a mistake," Gregory, one of the first crossover black comedians, told Reuters late on Sunday before a sold-out show at the Riot Act comedy club.

"The difference between this movement and our movement is that white people -- rich, poor, educated -- are born with 300 years of white privilege," he said.

"So there are certain things that you don't do to me when you're born with privileges. When it was us, the cops could do anything they wanted to. You can't do these children like this." Source: Reuters
Well, let's see if Mr. Gregory's words are prophetic and we will see police violence rise as a result. He certainly has the scars from the civil rights era and paid his dues, but I have to differ with him on his assessment of this movement. Somehow, I don't see it that way, but hey, that's just my opinion.
