Paula Deen Says First Lady Michelle Obama Likes Fried Foods Too, Contrary to the Goal of her "Let's Move" Anti-Obesity Campaign

Hypocrisy rears its ugly head as southern belle Paula Deen says Michelle Obama loves fried foods and "probably ate more than any other guest I've ever had on the show, she kept eating even during commercials."

I like First Lady Michelle Obama and I find her one of the better first ladies, but I can't understand why she keeps putting herself out there for criticism over a perceived double-standard with her childhood anti-obesity program. Of all the people for her to associate herself with in the cooking world, Paula Deen just isn't the person. You know Paula Deen's recipes and dishes are a recipe for high cholesterol and a heart attack waiting to happen.

"Well, I did a show with Michelle and I just loved being with her," Deen told Yeas & Nays. "She probably ate more than any other guest I've ever had on the show —she kept eating even during commercials." Deen taught Obama how to fry shrimp during a TV segment in September before the 2008 presidential election. 

"You know what their favorite foods are — it's hot wings, you know, those kinds of foods that are not necessarily top-of-the-list healthy foods, so she's no different than the rest of us," Deen said. "We love those kinds of foods, we just know that we can't eat them everyday." The culinary superstar also said she supported the first lady's initiative to get more Americans gardening. "So I love that," she said. "I was really happy to see her encouraging children, you know, to plant their little gardens." Source

Really Michelle? Why not go on Martha Stewart or Rachel Ray's shows? The dishes they whip up are more in line with the "Let's Move" campaign.

Michelle Obama Dolls by Jailbreak Toys to be Released November 20, White House Mum on the Dolls

Michelle Obama dolls are coming to a store near you. The six-inch doll is made by New York toymaker Jailbreak Toys and is set for release on November 20, 2009. Jason Feinberg, the 32-year old founder of the company, began selling a Barack Obama action figure doll in the mid-2008 and said in an interview with CNN, that Michelle Obama’s “energy” was “muted, subdued, classy” coming out of last year’s campaign while her husband’s image was much more like that of a superhero. So far, the White House has been mum on the dolls, quite unlike the swift reaction when Ty Inc. began selling dolls named "Marvelous Malia and Sweet Sasha" shortly after Inauguration Day. The First Lady's spokeswoman decried the dolls saying that "it is inappropriate to use young private citizens for marketing purposes."

The new Michelle Obama doll will be available in three different outfits -- the purple dress worn when she shared her famous "fist-bump" with her husband during the campaign, which a Fox News anchor said was a "terrorist jab;"  the red and black dress she wore on election night and the black and white floral dress she wore during an appearance on "The View."

Feinberg said his target audience for the new doll is not children but instead adults “who collected toys as a child, who haven’t lost that kind of whimsical enthusiasm.” The new Michelle Obama doll, like Jailbreak's Barack Obama doll, will retail for $12.99.

Unidentified Man Detained by the Secret Service for Carrying Sign that Read "Death to Obama," "Death to Michelle and her Two Stupid Kids"

If this isn't a throwback to the presidential election campaign, then I don't know what else it. An unidentified man was arrested by federal officials because he had a sign that just went too far. He was holding a sign that read "Death to Obama" yesterday outside a town hall meeting on health care reform in Hagerstown, Md.

Washington County Sheriff's Capt. Peter Lazich said, in an interview with NBC Washington, that the sign also read, "Death to Michelle and her two stupid kids." Lazich said U.S. Secret Service agents took the unidentified 51-year-old man into custody Wednesday afternoon after deputies detained him.

President George W. Bush was ridiculed and caricatured by many and that was clearly wrong and in poor taste. I disagreed with a lot of his positions and policies, but he did not deserve the ridicule that came his way. The same holds true for President Obama. Why are people carrying around signs calling for his death? The reality is that some nutjob may actually consider it a badge of honor, as was the case with the abortion doctor recently, to attempt to assassinate him. We are living in some perilous times and I don't blame the Secret Service one bit to lock this man up. You may not agree with much of what the president says and does, but it isn't right to call for his death.

Well, right-wing nutjob Ann Coulter is at it again. She has written a new book entitled "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and their Assault on America," in which she accuses the liberal left of playing victim when in fact, she states, they are the victimizers. Huh? She blasts incoming First Lady Michelle Obama as a freakish imitator of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Really Ann? You could never dream of looking as lady-like and dignified as Michelle Obama. You are skin and bones. Rough on the eyes too. The world is relieved that you will never be our First Lady.

Lashing out at the Michelle O, she wrote, "Her obvious imitation of Jackie O's style - the flipped-under hair, the sleeveless A-line dresses, the short strands of fake pearls - would have been laughable if done by anyone other than a media-designated saint." Where has she been? From the moment Michelle hit the scene her look has been the same. But Coulter has a lot of praise for Cindy "Barbie Doll" McCain. She said of Mrs. McCain, "dressed well without freakishly imitating famous First Ladies in history."

What I find abhorrent with Ann Coulter is the childish name-calling. She facetiously and snidely refers to Michelle as a "saint" and "Mother Teresa" and suggests that her public service career "advanced in lockstep with the political advancement of her husband." Wow, tough words coming from a lady who has served the public well--as a nuisance. Now, there are many choice words to describe Ann Coulter, but most people dismiss her as an insignificant distraction. She also states that the media "literally wanted to have sex with him." Too bad Ann Coulter won't be on the receiving end of such a fantasy. The thought of Ann Coulter having sex with anyone is nauseating. Yuck!

According to the U.K. Telegraph newspaper, Bishop Cornal Garnett Henning, who offered a prayer before a rally in Columbus, Ohio, compared Barack Obama to Moses and Martin Luther King in the same breath. He thanked God for having "given us a Moses and a Martin called Barack Obama" and asked the Almighty to "grant that we together this nation under God may have the will to bring about the change we need" and ensure that "those who cast their sacred vote will not be deprived this right". You do remember that the McCain campaign mocked Obama as a Moses figure in an ad entitled "the One" in August.

Michelle Obama said that "there's this beautiful thing about my husband." "He thinks he can really do everything, he does, with his own power and will." She continued: "Barack has built one of the most powerful political organizations, recruiting folks from all different kinds of backgrounds. In addition to that, he has built one of the most powerful political fundraising machines that has raised millions and broken records, not just with big donations but with folks writing $5 cheques, $10, $20, $30 cheques.

"Barack has selected a phenomenal running mate in Joe Biden. Barack has helped unify a party that some said could not be unified. He's participated in three national debates and has been outstanding in every single one of them. "And to top it off, he has done it, if I might just brag a bit, with a level of grace and poise and honesty and respect and consistency."

A very close family friend who resides in Jamaica, told my mother several weeks ago that Barack Obama reminded her of Moses. Not because he exudes charisma, but his ability to rally so many people to vote and work for his organization. She also said that he has a calming spirit in the face of relentless criticism and attacks from the right wing. She also said Moses as able, with all his faults, to become one of the greatest people in biblical times. So, too, will Barack Obama become one of the greatest people in our time. He has shown our young black males that it is okay to hope and strive for greatness, even run for the highest office in this country. I have to echo the sentiments of the young man hawking his t-shirts at the rally, "In Obama we trust," for new hope in America and a new sense of respect throughout the world, should he prevail in the elections tomorrow. To be honest, I wouldn't go as far as comparing him to Moses, but I will say that he is a transformational leader who knows how to rally the troops. That says a lot in my book.
