"Today, charges were unsealed against 11 legislators, businessmen, lobbyists and associates who, together, are alleged to have formed a corrupt network whose aim was to buy and sell votes in the Alabama legislature in order to directly benefit the business interests of two defendants, Milton McGregor and Ronald Gilley," said Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Criminal Division. "The people of Alabama, like all our citizens, deserve to have representatives who act in the public’s interest, not for their own personal financial gain. Vote-buying, like the kind alleged in this indictment, corrodes the public’s faith in our democratic institutions and cannot go unpunished."Is anyone surprised by the alleged actions of the 11? Not me. To read the entire press release from the Department of Justice, CLICK HERE.
"The allegations in today’s indictment underscore the commitment of the FBI, the Department of Justice, and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation to continue to pursue those in public office who undermine the public’s trust and engage in unethical and corrupt practices," said Assistant Director Kevin Perkins of the FBI’s Criminal Investigative Division. Casino Owner Milton McGregor, & 3 State Senators, Others, Arrested in Federal Indictment for Conspiracy to Influence & Corrupt Votes Related to Ala. Electronic Bingo Legislation
Here's a news story that won't get much publicity in the mainstream media. Milton McGregor, the owner of Alabama's largest casino, was arrested, along with Country Crossing casino employee Jay Walker, lobbyist Jarrod Massey and state senators Larry Means, Harri Anne Smith and Jim Preuitt. According to Tuscaloosa News, five other defendants have also been indicted. The indictment, released Monday, accused the casino owners and state politicians of conspiring to make payments and campaign donations to affect "pro-gambling legislation."
Memphis Man, Kenneth Bonds, Shoots Teen Cameron Tucker Because of His Sagging Pants
Kenneth Bonds took proving a point to a whole other level. He was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and jailed on a $25,000 bond, for shooting Cameron Tucker, 17, in the back for ignoring his demands to pull up his saggy pants, according to the Smoking Gun. Investigators contend that Bonds admitted to shooting Cameron Tucker, 17, following a September 25 argument on a Memphis sidewalk. The teenager was accompanied by Isaac Taylor, a 16-year-old friend. Tucker told cops that he and Taylor were walking to a candy store when Bonds “began yelling at them to pull their pants up,” according to an Memphis Police Department arrest warrant affidavit. “Bonds got angry when Tucker and Taylor refused and that’s when the three got into a heated argument,” reported police. As much as I find sagging pants disgusting and stereotypical, Mr. Bonds' decision to take the law into his own hands is a disgrace. Solving conflicts through violence isn't the message he should have sent these young men.
At that point, Bonds allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired a shot at the older boy. The shot missed, but as the boys fled, Bonds continued firing at them. One bullet hit the 17-year-old in the buttocks and exited through his thigh (the boy was treated for the wound at two different hospitals). A witness, Percy Chalmers, told cops that he saw Bonds “pull a large black semi auto handgun from his waist band” and fire several shots. Both Tucker and Taylor were able to identify Bonds in a photo spread prepared by Memphis police.
When contacted by phone, Bonds reportedly “admitted to shooting Cameron Tucker after an argument,” according to the police affidavit. Bonds was scheduled to be arraigned this morning on the felony counts. Source
Knife-Wielding NYC Man, Emmanuel Paulino, Shot & Killed by Police, Family & Friends Say Police Overreacted
The New York Police Department has come under fire in the shooting death of a knife-wielding Emmanuel Paulino Sunday morning in Manhattan. According to CBS New York, police said four officers were responding to a call and saw Paulino with a knife. They reportedly identified themselves, told him to drop the knife. One officer used his Taser on him with he failed to drop the knife but he continued to charge at the police. That's when he was shot several times. Well, here comes the protests and activists jockeying to represent the family. Some neighbors and relatives said the police overreacted, while activists are upset the NYPD released audio from the 9-1-1 call before a full investigation had been conducted.
This is a transcript of that call:
Operator: 911 Operator, where is your emergency?
Suspect: Yeah, I want you to call the cops cause I’m ready to kill.
Operator: What?
Suspect: I’m ready to kill some cops right now.
Operator: You’re ready to kill some cops?
Do you believe the police overreacted? One person said the police could have handled the situation differently, since they are trained with the latest technology and is one of the finest police departments in the world. Could someone please tell me why the family of this man allowed him to run around unchecked if he was emotionally challenged. How many people pick up the phone and make a phone call to 911 threatening the lives of officers?

Black Americans Support President Obama 91% While White Support Hovers Around 36% & Falling
Why do black Americans have such a deep love for President Barack Obama? According to a new Gallup poll, President Obama's popularity among black Americans is holding steady at 91%. Wow. Is that attributable to his race? It certainly couldn't be based on the issues and his handling of the economy. It should be noted that former President Bill Clinton also had high approval ratings with blacks. He averaged 81% approval among blacks during his term in office, including 89% or 90% average approval in the last three years of his presidency, according to Gallup.
President Obama shouldn't bask in his popularity with black Americans because he is literally struggling to stay afloat with other groups. With just 29 days left before the midterm elections, the approval ratings for Democrats overall is hovering below 50%. Added to the president's abysmal poll rating, 45% for September, 44% for August, the Democrats are in real trouble. History isn't working in their favor because presidents with approval ratings below 50% at midterm see their party suffer enormous losses in its congressional membership, regardless of who is really to be blamed for the economic mess on our hands. The reality is, substantial midterm congressional losses are a referendum on what America really thinks about the president. I don't think having the Republicans at the helm once again is a cure-all for what ails this country. It was a Republican president and his band of yes-men and women in the Republican congress that gave him a blank check to raid our coffers, fight an unnecessary and costly war in Iraq, among other things. So, I can't believe Sen. Mitch McConnell and House Minority Speaker John Boehner suddenly had an epiphany about how to fix America's economic woes and put people back to work.
Here's a snapshot of President Obama's Gallup poll results:
Democrats (79%) and liberals (75%) still like Obama a lot.
But after that, his approval percentage goes to the deep south. Support among even young people is down: 57%. Hispanics: 55%. Moderates: 54%. Unmarrieds: 53%. Easterners: 52%. Women: 47%. Midwesterners and Westerners: 45%.
Men: 43%. Southerners: 41%. Independents: 40%. Marrieds: 39%. Seniors: 38%. Whites: 36%. Conservatives: 23%.
College graduates only: 46%; monthly income less than $2000: 51%; monthly income of $2,000 to $4999: 45%; monthly income of $5000 to $74999: 43% and monthly income of $7500 or more: 44%. It should be noted that the president holds a 12% support among Republicans.

Alfred Moton Shoots Three Sons, Killing Two Before Police Fatally Shot Him at Pennsauken Home
SHOCK: Alfred Moton of Pennsauken reportedly shot and killed two of his sons and wounded a third in a horrible case of domestic violence Thursday night. He was later fatally wounded by police at the family home that he had allegedly set on fire.
UPDATE#1: Alfred's Moten's children have been indentified as AJ Moton, who died on the street, his 14-year-old brother, Stephen, was found shot and killed inside the home, and Charles remains hospitalized Friday at Cooper University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest, authorities said. This is such a horrendous turn of events in the lives of these boys.
Police responded at 10:35 p.m. Thursday to a report of a person down in the street and found a 16-year-old boy wounded on Beacon Street near Browning Road, Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutors Office said. Police also found an 18-year-old man fatally wounded on nearby Henwood Avenue, Laughlin said.I don't know how any parent could shoot their children, much less causing their deaths. This is a shame and Mr. Moton was spared a trial and the prospect of spending the rest of his life in prison because he was shot by police. There is no justification for this and it is telling that he went on this shooting rampage when the mother of the children was not at home.
Dispatchers then received a report of a fire at 4434 Royal Avenue, which is around the block from the intersection of Beacon and Browning. Police arrived and found Moton in the rear sunroom “with a gun, a lighter, and a can of gasoline,” Laughlin said. Moton charged at three officers and they opened fire, killing him, Laughlin said. A 14-year-old boy was found shot to death in the house. Also in the house was an elderly man, who was not shot but taken to Cooper University Hospital to be monitored, Laughlin said.
The 16-year-old boy was taken to Cooper University Hospital and reported in critical but stable condition with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. Source

Leon Wright, Former Neighbor of Sexual Abuse Accuser Anthony Flagg, Says Bishop Eddie Long Visited Him "Every Day"
The Bishop Eddie L. Long gay sex scandal continues to rock Atlanta. This time, Leon Wright, a neighbor of Long accuser, Anthony Flagg, at a South DeKalb neighborhood, said he saw Long visit the home almost "every day." According to WSB-TV, Wright, who lived two doors from Flagg said, "Sometimes they were here for hours." He told WSB-TV the frequency of Bishop Long's visits were "like a mail lady come to drop mail off," Wright laughed. "It was every day, man." LOL. This is funny, but it puts Long at the scene of one of his accuser's home.
Wright says Bishop Long and Flagg were typically alone in the house when they were together. The suit says Andrew Momon owned the home. Momon is an official at New Birth. The house is now in foreclosure. Leon Wright says he saw no evidence of abuse when Flagg and Bishop Long spent time together. But Wright says he knew Flagg, saw them together frequently and believes the allegations against Bishop Long. "I feel bad for what he's going through," said Wright. "But I believe it. I think it's true." SourceThis scandal just won't go away. It keeps sprouting new buds. The Atlanta Journal Constitution recently reported that Long's first wife, accused in her divorce petition of being physically abusive. I marvel at the fact that Long has hired investigator T. J. Ward, who was also hired by the family of Beth Holloway, to find her daughter Natalee Holloway, who died under strange circumstances while on spring break in Aruba. I might add that Ward was never able to nail Joran Van Der Sloot without doubt and her body has never been found. So, it is highly unlikely that he will uncover anything about Long's four accusers -- Anthony Flagg, Maurice Robinson, Spencer LeGrande and Jamal Parris -- that will discredit their claims.
