Former Imperial Wizard of the KKK, Johnny Lee Clary, Ordained as Minister in Church of God in Christ, Largest Black Denomination in U.S.

Johnny Lee Clary, a former imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, is now an ordained minister in one of the nation's largest African-American denominations. He was ordained in the six million-member Church of God in Christ (COGIC) during a service led by Bishop George McKinney, pastor of St. Stephen's Cathedral Church of God in Christ in San Diego and a member of COGIC's 12-member general board. All I can think of is a line from "The Color Purple" in which Shug Avery said to her father, "see Daddy, sinners have souls too." Even the vilest offender can truly repent.

Clary, who is based in Oklahoma, will serve as an evangelist under McKinney's oversight, and his ministry will emphasize racial reconciliation. "Bishop McKinney and I both felt like racial reconciliation was needed now more than ever," said Clary, who befriended McKinney in the early 1990s when the two spoke during a Promise Keepers event. "We feel like it makes a huge statement that the former national imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan would join the Church of God in Christ and reach out with the Church of God in Christ to bring racial reconciliation to America."

"We want to take this back to where it was when William Seymour and the Azusa Street Revival was happening, when blacks and whites were together," added Clary, who preached at St. Stephen's on Sunday. "This is what's needed for this nation now to overcome racism."

After joining the Ku Klux Klan during his teens, Clary eventually became leader of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. But he grew increasingly dissatisfied and eventually resigned from his post. With two failed marriages, no friends and little money, Clary says he turned to the God he'd been introduced to as a child and accepted Christ in 1990. Since then he has shared his story on talk shows including The Phil Donahue Show, Geraldo, The 700 Club and Sally Jesse Raphael, and he preaches in churches in the U.S. and Australia.

Clary notes that white supremacist groups saw an upsurge in interest after President Obama was elected, with many of the organizations using nationalist labels to draw not only racists but also those who are fearful of the president's policies. Source:  Charisma Magazine

Well, I applaud Mr. Clary for his reformation and his change of heart. It is, however, a sad commentary that there are still so much racial hatred in this country -- neo-Nazi groups and yes, some elements within the New Black Panther Movement.

William Caldwell III, Dressed as Christmas "Elf," Jailed in Georgia Mall Dynamite Hoax

William Caldwell III is facing the prospect of spending Christmas behind bars for his actions. He was dressed as a Christmas elf and told Santa Claus at the Southlake Mall in Morrow, Ga., that he was carrying a bomb, forcing the evacuation of the mall Wednesday night. He stood in line with kids to meet and take a picture with Santa. Morrow Police said he told Santa that he had dynamite in his bag.

To make matters worst, three suspicious bags were left on the outside area where Santa Claus was, the police said. The bags turned out to be harmless and the police found no explosives.

It is unclear what this man's motivation was, but he has been arrested and hit with seven criminal charges, including terroristic threats and reckless conduct.

Rachel Uchitel To Admit to Having Adulterous Affair with Tiger Woods, Says "I Lied for Him"

UPDATE:  PRESS CONFERENCE CANCELED.

The Tiger Woods adultery scandal continues, as alleged skank #1 Rachel Uchitel and her lawyer Gloria Allred will hold a press conference today at 2:30 p.m. EST, during which she is expected to admit to having an affair with the golfing superstar. According to TMZ, the fight at Tiger Woods' home the morning of the crash was triggered by a series of text messages between Tiger and the woman. This is very disgraceful and Tiger Woods has disappointed so many people with his sexual escapades. It also speaks to a greater issue that the Florida Highway Patrol may have just given Tiger Woods a slap on the wrist by issuing a citation for his accident and not followed up with a deeper probe. Something stinks here and someone is covering up some mess.

TMZ further states that less than an hour before Tiger's accident, Rachel and Tiger were texting each other. Elin confronted Tiger and asked whom he was texting. She grabbed the phone and we're told she called Rachel to confront her. According to sources, Tiger and Elin began arguing and the phone broke in the process. We're also told there was damage as a result of the altercation in the vestibule area of Tiger's home -- damage that cannot be easily repaired, and that is why Tiger would not let police come in. If all these allegations are true, then one has to ask what really happened at the home of Tiger Woods and his wife? This is a low-down dirty shame and I am sure this isn't what Tiger Woods' father, the late Earl Woods, expected from him. It is also telling that something terrible happened at the home because of comments made by Jesper Parnevik, a Swedish golfer, who once employed Elin Nordegren and her twin sister as nannies for his children and even introduced her to Tiger. He blasted Woods, saying he hopes Elin uses a driver next time instead of a 3-iron. Parnevik told a reporter he feels "especially sad since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him." He also said Tiger may have taken his Nike credo too far and that next time, "Maybe not just do it." Ouch.

This matter should be a private one, but Tiger Woods and his team handled it horribly from the onset. He has lost the respect of a lot of people. As a woman and a wife, I can fully empathize with his wife and the horrible position this has put her in. Tiger Woods' behavior started changing in recent years. He now uses profanity and swears on the golf course, fully cognizant of the fact that the matches are being broadcast and the whole world is listening to him. I can only trust that he has learned a valuable lesson from all this and will become a better man, husband and father. No parent wants to see their daughter treated in this manner by her spouse. As the mother of two boys, who are budding stars on the youth soccer circuit, I couldn't possibly sit by and accept this behavior from them when they become adults. I think it is safe to say that people are placing far too much trust and admiration in athletes and celebrities. They are human and make some of the worst choices. With that said, it's time to move on from this mess with Tiger Woods and the media should really stop giving these two skanks a platform to air their dirty laundry.

White House Claims Executive Privilege in Social Secretary Desirée Rogers Decision Not to Appear on Capitol Hill over the Salahis Party Crashing

UPDATE#1: 11:42 A.M. -- The agents who let Tareq and Michaele Salahi through the White House checkpoint at last week's state dinner have been placed on administrative leave and might be fired, according to Secret Service chief Mark Sullivan.

Executive privilege for President Obama's Social Secretary Desirée Rogers? Hmmm. It's starting to look a lot like George W. Bush's administration. The White House announced on December 1, that Ms. Rogers, a close friend of both President Obama and his wife, would not be testifying to Congress Thursday about the two reality-television aspirants, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, who got by the Secret Service at a recent state dinner to shake hands with President Obama. Besides having egg on their face, what is the real reason why they don't want Ms. Rogers to appear on Capitol Hill? They didn't have a problem throwing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defense Secretary Gates on the "lions den" yesterday to make a case for sending more troops to Afghanistan.

"I think you know that based on separation of powers, staff here don't go to testify in front of Congress," said press secretary Robert Gibbs in his daily briefing. "She will not be testifying in front of Congress tomorrow." Really? Other than the obvious embarassment to the White House, how can they justify her not testifying based on executive privilege? Seems like Christmas has come really early for the Salahis and they will be on the receiving end of some monetary gifts from the media.

The sad reality is that the decision of the White House will likely not be contested by Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee, essentially saving Rogers from a potentially embarrassing turn in the hearing-room spotlight. Since Rogers was only invited, not subpoenaed, to testify by the ranking Republican on the committee, New York Representative Pete King, she faces no legal consequences for declining to attend. Whatever happened to the transparency that President Obama promised on the campaign trail?

In my opinion, Gibbs' justification for Ms. Rogers' absence on the basis of a separation of powers has raised eyebrows. It's laughable that they invoked Executive privilege with regards to a social secretary arranging a party. Is it me or is this just really inane?

The Drudge Report Caught in a Lie, Runs Picture with Caption Saying U.S. Cadet Reading "Kill Bin Laden" Book While President Obama Spoke at West Point

A U.S. Army cadet was caught on camera by Reuters reading a book entitled "Kill Bin Laden" as he waited with other cadets for U.S. President Barack Obama to deliver an address on U.S. policy and the war in Afghanistan at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York December 1, 2009. Obama announced a plan to send 30,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan over six months in a bid to beat back the Taliban and bring a quicker end to a costly and unpopular eight-year war.

 The problem is that The Drudge Report is trying to make hay of this cadet's actions by stating that he read the book while President Obama was speaking to the nation. The caption with the picture stated quite clearly that he read the book while he waited for the President to come to the podium to deliver his speech. Another deliberate smear and fabrication by the right.

Tiger Woods Admits to "Transgressions," As Another Woman, Nightclub Manager Kalika Moquin, Comes Forward

Since the bottom fell out of the bucket, Tiger Woods has finally fessed up to the allegations of adulterous relationships with a few women. He issued an apology Wednesday for "letting his family down.” Yeah, Tiger Woods was being boxed into a corner and had no choice but to issue a statement to end this public relations nightmare. Well, so long to the image he painted for long so of a private man, devoted to his wife and his children, and a positive role model. That isn't the value-system he portrayed and it is a sad commentary in the life of yet another public figure. In a written statement posted on his website, Tiger Woods states:

"I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology."

The National Enquirer broke a story last week alleging that he had been seeing a New York nightclub "hostess," Rachel Uchitel, and that they were recently together in Melbourne, where Woods competed in the Australian Masters. Since then, a San Diego cocktail waitress Jamiee Grubbs came out of the woodwork and has confessed to Us magazine that she had a 31-month-long affair with the golf champ. Life & Style magazine also claims that Woods had a sexual relationship with Vegas nightclub manager Kalika Moquin. This is a sad commentary and Tiger Woods portrayed such a wholesome image that it's shocking to learn that he has engaged in a string of adulterous relationships. This is really a private matter between him and his wife, but we all know that it will stay in the public realm because of his stature.

I won't throw him totally under the bus. As long as he redeems himself and does the right thing, he deserves a second chance. It will literally send waves of the proportion of a tsunami if he loses any of his endorsements. Many will make the case that he should and it depends on the morality clause in these contracts. If there was a stipulation that committing any moral blunders would lead to the contract(s) being terminated, then that should happen. Sorry Tiger. You messed up big. To those skanks who love knowingly sleep with another woman's husband, shame on you! This will not net you positive publicity. People will see you as a homewrecker and a clean-up woman.

Washington Times Runs Anti-Obama Birther Ad Featuring Three Monkeys

This latest national edition of the Washington Times features a full-page ad that claims that President Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States, further feeding into the ridiculous notion hatched by the birther movement. The ad was purchased by the anti-Obama website ProtectOurLiberty.org. While the group has placed several birther ads in the Washington Times in recent months, the version that ran this morning contains far more inflammatory imagery — three monkeys, apparently intended to represent the U.S. Congress, courts, and the media. It is amazing that people continue to fan the flames of racial tensions in this country. Where was it ever written in the United States Constitution that a black man couldn't dare to dream of becoming the president, let alone actually accomplish that feat?
