The House has voted to admonish Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) over his "You lie" outburst to President Obama during his health care speech to Congress last week. The 240-179 vote, mainly along party lines with seven Republicans voting with the majority, marked the first time in the 220-year history of the House that a member had ever been admonished for such an outburst while the president was giving an address. Sorry, but this amounts to a slap on the wrist. He should have been censured.
Democrats insisted that Wilson take responsibility for what they said was a serious breach of decorum. Republicans characterized the vote as a political stunt. Right. As long as it's coming from the other side of political aisle, the Rethuglicans will see it as a political stunt, much like the tone they are setting in the town hall meetings and at the protests held last weekend.
Here is the vote tally:

Mark Williams, "Tea Party" Leader, Calls President Obama an "Indonesian Muslim Turned Welfare Thug and a Racist-in-Chief"
Mark Williams, "Tea Party" leader, appeared on "Anderson Cooper 360" last night and showed why people shouldn't take the tea party protests seriously. He denounced those protesters who carried blatantly racist signs against President Barack Obama saying those people were "no more part of the mainstream of America than the hippies who wear nipple clips and feather boas in San Francisco streets during so-called peace demonstrations." Here's the hypocrisy of his comments. Anderson Cooper then said: "What you're saying makes sense to me here when I'm hearing what you say but then I read on your blog, you say, you call the President an Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug and a racist in chief."
Williams shrugged and responded, "Yeah, that's the way he's behaving." An obviously shocked Anderson Cooper asked Williams if he really believed Obama is an Indonesian Muslim and a welfare thug. This idiot dug the hole deeper: "He's certainly acting like it. Until he embraces the whole country what else can I conclude."
You draw your own conclusions, but I fervently believe that there are some good people demonstrating for a cause they believe in, but there are others who are in it just to make it racial, like Mark Williams. If the leader of the movement is making racist comments such as this, then what type of people does he really think he will attract?
