More athletes acting badly. Chicago Bears' defensive tackle Tommie Harris managed to break a record today. He got ejected four plays into the game. That was the quickest ejection in NFL history in recent memory. He earned his record by punching Cardinals' offensive tackle Deuce Lutui.

At the end of an Arizona running play, Harris and Lutui ended up on the ground and a replay showed Harris hitting Lutui near the face. The Bears got a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones.... This goes for Robin Starr, CEO of the Richmond Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. You see Ms. Starr said she accidentally left her 16 year old blind and deaf dog in her hot car for four hours and the dog died. The problem for me is that this woman was a vocal critic of Michael Vick. No charges will be filed in this matter, but it still shows a deep level of hypocrisy. Gee, I wonder, if that were someone else, what would Ms. Starr have said of their actions?

Starr said in an interview that she didn't realize "Louie" was in the car until noon. Starr's husband, Ed, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch he put the dog in her car's cargo area as she got ready for work Aug. 19 but forgot to tell her. She often took the dog to work with her. Robin Starr took the dog to two clinics, but he died of kidney failure.

Starr has been a vocal critic of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick who was released from federal custody July 20 after serving 18 months of a 23-month sentence for his role in running a dogfighting ring. When she learned of his reinstatement, she said "The action of the NFL commissioner to reinstate Michael Vick is both premature and unwise. Vick has not yet demonstrated that his remorse is sincere or that his irresponsible, cruel and criminal behaviors are likely to change. The NFL and its leadership apparently lack the integrity to require civilized behavior from their players. This would reflect poorly on any team that adds Vick to its roster."

So how does she feel now, knowing that a lack of communication between her and her husband led to the death of their dog? Don't get me wrong, what Michael Vick did was reprehensible, but he paid his debt to society and should be given a second chance, much as Martha Stewart and others have received.

Venus and Serena Williams to become Part-Owners of the Miami Dolphins

Venus and Serena Williams are trailblazers in the world of tennis. Now these two sisters are charting a new course -- part owners of the Miami Dolphins. According to media reports, the agreement is being finalized and I hope it will come to fruition. The two women live in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and this development would be significant because the NFL has no African-American majority team owner.

Musicians Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Marc Anthony recently bought small shares of the team. New Dolphins owner Stephen Ross also forged a partnership with singer Jimmy Buffett. The Dolphins have said the involvement of the celebrities reflects the diversity of South Florida and shows that the franchise is connected with the community.

"There's always so many opportunities out there, and Venus and I are always trying to expand our brand and do the best that we can do, and if an opportunity presents itself, we would love to see where it can take us," Serena Williams said. Nick Schuyler Found Clinging to Boat off Florida, as they Search for Corey Smith, Marquis Cooper and William Bleakley on Fishing Expedition

The news about the whereabouts of NFL players Corey Smith and Marquis Cooper, as well as the two other friends who went with them on a fishing expedition, may not good be good, at least for three of them. According to the Coast Guard, it has found an overturned boat with University of South Florida football player Nick Schuyler clinging to it in waters where authorities have been searching for four missing boaters. According to Coast Guard Petty Officer Harless, it does not know whether the boat it found is the one it has been searching for. But there is a good chance that they found the missing boat. The identity and condition of the person found with the boat was not known, Harless said.

Marquis Cooper is reportedly an avid-fisherman, so they must have been hampered by the bad weather more than anything else. According to CNN, the search, which began early Sunday, now involves three Coast Guard cutters, three C-130 Hercules airplanes and three helicopters combing 16,000 square miles of open water in the Gulf of Mexico, about 50 miles west of Clearwater Pass, according to a Coast Guard statement. The search area Sunday was just 750 square miles. The Air Force Reserve's 920th Rescue Wing, based at Florida's Tyndall Air Force Base, sent a C-130 airplane and a HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter to join the effort Monday, the Air Force said.

I know that it is hard on the family as they await news of their loved-ones' plight. I pray that they will find all four men, but the longer the search goes, the likelihood that the outcome will not be good. As a Christian, I have to be optimistic, knowing that God is always in the midst of every trial and miracles can happen. I pray for the families of the four men. I am hopeful that the rescued man can tell the authorities exactly what happened once he regains his strength, assuming he was one of the four on the boat. How ironic that despite a near collapse that required $45 billion in federal taxpayer bailout funds, Bank of America was able to sponsor a five day carnival-like affair just outside the Super Bowl stadium this past week as President Obama vehemently decried wasteful spending on Wall Street. Talk about kicking taxpayers in the face with a big grin after walking away with billions.

According to ABC News, Brian Ross has launched an investigation of the bankers who sponsored Super Bowl festivities. The event – known as the NFL Experience – was 850,000 square feet of sports games and interactive entertainment attractions for football fans and was blanketed in Bank of America logos and marketing calls to sign up for football-themed banking products.

The bank staunchly defended its sponsorship, saying it was a " business proposition" and part of its "growth strategy." According to the Bank of America, the official bank of the NFL, its NFL partnerships and product tie-tins "generate significant revenue streams." The bank said it was legally required to fulfill its contract to be an NFL sponsor and that its NFL product sales had already increased since the Experience began Jan. 24.

The bank refused to tell ABC News how much it is spending as an NFL corporate sponsor, but insiders have put the figure at close to $10 million. The NFL Experience was on top of that and was inked last summer, according to the bank. The NFL said it was a "multi-million dollar" event and that it was also spending money to put on the event. A Super Bowl insider said the tents alone cost over $800,000. Tickets were available for purchase for between $12.50 and $18.50, with proceeds from ticket sales going to local youth initiatives.
