Steve Nunn, Former GOP Lawmaker from Kentucky, Found Shot Hours After Ex-Girlfriend Amanda Ross' Body Discovered

Another Republican is in the news today and I might add for all the wrong reasons. Former Kentucky GOP lawmaker Steve Nunn has been charged with violation of a protective order after his former girlfriend, Amanda Ross, was found shot to death in downtown Lexington.

There's more. Hours after her body was found, Nunn was discovered shot in Barren county. Nunn has not been charged with the murder, but the police are working with Lexington investigators to determine "if there's any connection" between Nunn and the slaying.

Nunn ran unsuccessfully for the Republican gubernatorial nomination in 2003. He lost a bid for re-election to the state House in 2006 after 15 years as a state representative.

Arnold T. Ross, 17, Arrested and Charged with Rape and Murder of 8-Month Baby Da-Von Lonzo

HORROR: Arnold T. Ross, 17, was arrested on charges of aggravated rape and first-degree murder of an eight-month old baby, Da-Von Lonzo, yesterday afternoon. The dirtbag was arrested after officers responded to a call of an unresponsive infant at the home. The baby was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The baby reportedly suffered multiple fractures consistent with a beating and tears in the anus. How could anyone be so cruel as to do this to a baby? The latest news is that the baby's mother is 34 years old. Now could someone tell me what in the world is a grown woman doing with a 17-year old and one with such an extensive criminal record at that? She needs to be looked at closely by law enforcement for endangering the welfare of her baby. Where are the parents of this monster?

Ross, who said he was the boyfriend of the infant's mother, initially told detectives that the baby fell down the stairs while he was babysitting. But a neighbor reported hearing loud noises coming from the apartment, and investigators noted inconsistencies in Ross's account. Ross later admitted that he beat the infant repeatedly when he would not stop crying, Col. John Fortunato said. When the child began to defecate on himself, Ross said he tried to clean it up, causing the tears, according to the release.

Ross has a record of previous arrests for possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, obscenity, battery on a correctional officer, three counts of battery on a teacher, three counts of theft, illegal carrying of a weapon and assault. Source: NOLA.com

This should not have happened to this baby and I hope this dirtbag will get the death penalty, if it's available in Louisiana. If he had bisexual tendencies, then he should have been man enough to find a suitable partner and not a baby. The fact that he has an extensive criminal record at 17 years old speaks volumes and is tragic at the same time. This young man is a vile beast who does not deserve to be among decent people but in a prison cell in solitary confinement or with hardened criminals.

Brutal Slaying of Alex Arellano Brings to 35 the Number of Students Killed this School Year in Chicago

The death of a tenth-grade Chicago Public School student on the Southwest Side Saturday afternoon raises the number of students killed this school year to 35, surpassing the 26 students who died last year.

Alex Arellano, 15, was found dead in an alley of apparent burns, according to Chicago Breaking News. Detectives are treating Arellano’s death as a homicide; police said victim, a sophomore at Chicago Discovery Academy, had no gang affiliation or criminal record. Chicagoist.com

When Mayor Daley was asked to comment about the situation in his city, he simply stated that this happens in all the big cities in America and the only difference is that other cities call the kids dropouts instead of students, as to where in Chicago they are still referred to as students.

What an answer.

While the news cycle continues to run the same "big" stories of the day, we are all still distracted from the important issues of life and this country. Our children are dying at an unbelievable rate and no one seems to care in this country; or at least on any of the news channels. I am truly sadden by this story as I watched the news yesterday to only hear the same stories over and over on each channel.

What will it take for a task force to be put together to stop these senseless killings of our children, America's future that occur across the country? How complicated can it be to put an end to this? I think it would be easy if someone really cared.

Marc Stewart, a Stone Mountain, Ga., man had gone missing since February 11, when he was last seen leaving home for work. His body was found in his SUV Saturday night in the parking lot of a Bahama Breeze restaurant. Somebody put his vehicle with his body there and I hope the police catch them quickly.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated that the body of a black man was found inside a parked Ford Explorer. Stewart’s bank card and cell phone had been used since he disappeared, according to family friend Kiyomi Rollins.

Stewart’s wife, Andrea White, received an e-mail alert from Bank of America stating "irregular check card activity" had been spotted on Stewart’s account, said Rollins.The alert came three hours after White received a call from her husband saying he was on his way home, Rollins said. I am hoping that surveillance cameras at the bank and wherever else the scumbag(s) used his bank card will show a clear image of the perpetrator(s).

Stewart, a native of Jamaica like me, was the president and CEO of Island Coast Entertainment, a music and event planning company in Atlanta. He did not deserve to die that way. No way. Nobody does.
