SNL mocked Hank Williams Jr. and his comments on "Fox and Friends," comparing President Obama to Adolf Hitler.
Ben Stiller, the guest host last night, played Williams' media spokesman, Chris Brooks, who blamed Fox News for inviting him on the show to give his comments. Williams was played by Jason Sudekis.
“What did you think he would say? Look at him. He looks like a truck stop Santa Claus,” Brooks said. “You introduced Mr. Williams as a man who knew a thing or two about politics. Telling him he’s a political analyst is akin to giving a baby a gun
“Don’t give a baby a gun — President Barack-Hitler will just take it away,” said Williams.
Brooks insisted Williams calls some of his best friends Hitler, to which Williams cut in: “Most of them are good guys, except for Travis, he’s a real Hitler.”
“Are you ready for an apology?” Williams asked. “Well, you’re not going to get one ’cause I calls ‘em like I sees ’em and Obama is Hitler!”
That was funny, but did you really expect any better from Fox News and Hank Williams Jr.? He didn't apologize until ESPN hit him in the wallet.
Hank Williams Jr. compare President Obama playing golf with John Boehner to Adolf Hitler playing golf with Benjamin Netanyahu. Fox News' Gretchen Carlson disavowed the comments at the end of the segment. Here's my question, why have Hank Williams Jr. on in the first place? What is he a leading authority on, other than bigotry? When Carlson asked him who he likes in the GOP presidential race, he responded by saying nobody and then the conversation takes a strange turn for the worst:
HANK WILLIAMS: Remember the golf game?
STEVE DOOCY: Boehner?
HANK WILLIAMS: That was one of the biggest political mistakes ever.
CO-HOSTS: Why?
HANK WILLIAMS: That turned a lot of people off. You know, watching, you know, it just didn’t go over.
GRETCHEN CARLSON: You mean when John Boehner played golf with President Obama?
HANK WILLIAMS: Oh, yeah! Yeah. And Biden and Kasich, yeah. Uh-huh.
GRETCHEN CARLSON: What did you not like about it? It seems to be a really pivotal moment for you.
HANK WILLIAMS: Come on. Come on. It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, OK?
