DeKalb DA Robert James Caves to Bishop Eddie Long's Request to Drop Burglary Charges Against Anthony Boyd

The DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James said Monday he will honor a request from Bishop Eddie L. Long to dismiss burglarly charges against former security guard Anthony Boyd. Um, why? Because Bishop Long might have been called to testify and didn't want to. That's my opinion. He has something to hide. Boyd was charged win a 2010 theft at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, along with two of Long's sexual coercion accusers, Anthony Flagg and Maurice Robinson.
"We decided to cut our losses," James told the AJC, saying prosecution would be complicated by Long's reluctance to testify against Anthony Boyd. Also, "the defendant is not accused of using a weapon and doesn't have a bad criminal history." Source
I guess Bishop Long still has some pull in DeKalb County, if he can get the district attorney to cave to his demands. The reality is that Bishop Long can run from his demons, but they will overtake him sooner rather than later. Just saying....

Bishop Eddie Long Asks DA to Drop Charges Against Former Security Guard, Anthony Boyd, Implicated in 2010 Theft at Church with Anthony Flagg & Maurice Robinson

Bishop Eddie Long is in the news again. This time, he wrote a letter to the DeKalb County district attorney seeking to drop charges against former New Birth security officer Anthony Boyd, who was implicated in a 2010 theft at the church.

According to the police report, Boyd was accused of facilitating the burglary of about $100,000 in jewelry and electronics from Long's office at the church. His attorney had made it perfectly clear that Long would be called to testify. Well, I guess he doesn't want to do that, does he?

Boyd was implicated with Anthony Flagg and Maurice Robinson, two of the four men who sued Long for sexual coercion. Robinson was charged with burglary, while Flagg was not charged due to a lack of evidence. It seems to me that Bishop Long is running away from answering any questions about these men.
No evidence has been presented that Boyd participated in the actual theft of the missing items, which included a $35,000 Jorg Hysek diamond watch. "Basically [Robinson and his accomplice] were just trying to get evidence to further the investigation because [attorney B.J.] Bernstein said she couldn't take on the case unless they get more evidence," Boyd said. I don't know why Bishop Long has opted to engage in a cat-and-mouse game where these five men -- Spencer LeGrande, Jamal Parris, Anthony Flagg, Maurice Robinson and Centino Kemp -- are concerned. Just talk to your congregation and the supporters of your ministry, as well as to the five young men, and move on.
