Tonya Neff, a middle school teacher at Toro Canyon Middle School, was arrested for being intoxicated on campus.

Toro Canyon Middle School teacher Tonya Neff was arrested Tuesday afternoon for teaching while drunk.

According to media reports, administrators for the school told the Riverside County Sheriff's that Neff, 47, was apparently intoxicated on campus. She has been book for investigation of felony child endangerment.

Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Tapp reportedly said the teacher had taken prescription drugs and alcohol. An alcoholic beverage was found inside a container. She has been placed on leave.

Two Gun Bills Pass the Georgia Senate, One Would Allow Licensed Guns in Churchs, Bars & Possibly College Campuses

Two gun bills sponsored by Georgia Republican lawmakers passed state Senate. Would allow licensed guns to be carried in churches, bars and grants public colleges the right to determine if guns are allowed on their campuses.

Two bills that would allow licensed guns to be carried in churches, bars and parts of airports were passed by the Georgia Senate Wednesday. SB 308, which was sponsored by state Sen. Mitch Seabaugh (R-Sharpsburg), to clarify where guns can be carried in the state. It passed 41-12 with bipartisan support. The other bill, SB 291, sponsored by state Sen. David Shafer (R-Duluth), permits concealed weapons in vehicles that pick up and drop off passengers at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Seabaugh's bill, in its final version, would make it a crime to carry a gun onto private property unless the property owner grants permission. So, if a bar owner or church pastor approves gun possession on his property, then it is legal for patrons or parishioners to carry one. Still, the idea of carrying a gun into a church is ludicrous. I have always felt that patrons carrying guns to bars is a recipe for disaster because an inebriated person's capacity to think and act is greatly diminished.

What's equally ridiculous is the fact that this bill also grants public colleges and universities the right to determine if guns are allowed on their campuses. After the massacre at Virginia Technical University, the last thing that anyone should want on a college campus is a gun. An early version of the bill allowed guns on campus, which university officials fought. The bill has to face a final hurdle, as it now goes to the House of Representatives to be voted on.

It seems that the extreme right wing faction within the Republican Party is getting a bully pulpit to push their positions. It is imperative that every voter get to know the positions of their elected officials on both sides of the aisle. You can't effect change if you don't vote and be knowledgeable about your lawmakers.

It is shameful that up to 100 police officers in Australia are being investigated for sharing a racist email and that racism has been rampant in the police department. There have been some proof to back up those claims. The police is charged with protecting the public, so how can a racist officer be fair to every citizen?

The message reportedly shows a non-white man being tortured. Officers being investigated could face dismissal for circulating it on police computers. The Victoria police force has been criticized for failing to respond adequately to a series of attacks against Indian students in Melbourne. Earlier this month the police chief admitted some officers were racist.

Computer experts tracking the e-mail found that several had added racist comments before forwarding it on to colleagues, the Melbourne newspaper The Age reports. It was one of a series of e-mails that were either racist or pornographic in nature, according to the Victoria Police chief Simon Overland.

"It's offensive and my view is that it would cause significant concern and alarm in the community if the nature of the material was made public," he said. Earlier this month, Mr Overland was forced to concede there were racial bigots within the ranks of his force. This followed a damning report that accused police officers of taunting and beating up an African youth.

It is a real shame that one of the United States' close allies would be fingered for racist behavior. This speaks volumes to the behavior of Rupert Murdoch, who is an Australian, and his Fox News Channel and its anchors' treatment of Barack Obama.

I am always enraged when black legislators, who disagree with President Obama, engage in name-calling. GOP congressional hopeful, Corey Poitier, while speaking to a group of Broward Republicans Monday night in Miramar, Fla., had the nerve to call President Obama "Buckwheat." According to the Miami Herald, during an impassioned speech against the health care reform, he said, "Listen up, Buckwheat -- that's  not how it is done." Er, Mr. Poitier, those words are so appropriate for what you have done. Sorry, that's just not how you go after the president. He has since apologized for the name-calling.

You will recall that Buckwheat was one of the characters of the 1920s "Our Gang" and "The Little Rascals." This character was largely seen as demeaning and offensive to many blacks. Of course, Mr. Poitier doesn't see anything wrong with the characterization. No. He told CNN, "The press has run amok with this, and turned me into a racist." "I've never seen Buckwheat as a disparaging character. People love Buckwheat." Really? You are an idiot for thinking that somehow the character of Buckwheat is what many black kids aspire to embody. He said that "he and his brother have in fact called each other "Buckwheat" as a way to gently chide the other for being foolish. So, now Buckwheat is another word for dummy?

There's nothing wrong with having a legitimate beef with the health care reform, but to engage in name-calling is just juvenile. The reality is that the Republican Party is made up of a bunch of crybabies and name-callers who have shown the entire world that some members of the party are uncouth, loud and appeal to the fringe elements of the party who engage in overt racism. So, in a word, Corey Poitier, like RNC Chairman Michael Steele, is a stooge for the Republican machine. You see, that's what the enemy likes to see, the fact that we just can't get along.

So, who is Corey Poitier? He is an economics and government teacher at North Miami Beach Senior High School. I wonder what he calls his problem students? He is also one of nearly a dozen candidates hoping to clinch the District 17 congressional seat being vacated by Rep. Kendrick Meek. It's safe to say he won't win in the heavily-Democratic district and he will fade into obscurity soon. The district includes portions of Pembroke Pines, Miami Gardens and Miami Shores, among other areas.

Rev. Al Sharpton's community organization group, National Action Network, is in dire financial straits, according to the Daily Caller. The group, which is headquartered in Harlem, New York, reportedly owes at least $1,556,059 in federal taxes and $108,489 in state taxes.

Rachel Noerdlinger, executive vice president of communications for the 19-year-old racial grievance group, said rumors of the group’s imminent demise were greatly exaggerated. “NAN faced tremendous challenges in 2007 and 2008 but after reaching an agreement with state and federal tax authorities the problems have been resolved and NAN will present a very robust report where the organization is financially now and moving forward at our national convention in April,” she said in an e-mail.

Didn't Sharpton just clean up some financial mess last year after the FBI paid some of his staff members a visit at their respective homes?

South Carolina State Rep. David Weeks urges black football recruits to reconsider University of South Carolina over black trustee flap.

DRAMA: South Carolina State Rep. David Weeks, chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus, is calling for a boycott of the University of South Carolina by black football recruits, because the school could lose its lone black trustee, Leah B. Moody. He said, in an interview with the Associated Press, that there aren't enough votes in the Legislature to get Moody, a lawyer, appointed to a full term on the 22-member board April. She is reportedly finishing the term of a trustee who resigned before pleading guilty to bank fraud.

"We are asking young athletes to be aware ... there are folks in this state who say it's fine to play ball but not be on the governing board," Weeks said. He and several other lawmakers, including former Gamecocks lineman Anton Gunn, a black Democrat from Columbia, said members of the black community were calling recruits and their families and asking them to rethink playing for the school.

While the Gamecocks have been mediocre for years, the football team and coach Steve Spurrier draw massive fan support in a state with no professional sports. The Southeastern Conference team is the subject of radio talk shows and media coverage year-round, and home games at the school's enormous stadium in the capital city draw tens of thousands for hours of tailgating each week during the season. The team had a 2009 record of 7-6 and an average attendance of more than 75,300 at its seven home games. Source: AJC

I can't even put into words how horrific this grandmother's actions are towards her granddaughter. She allowed Johnnie Griffin, 67, to have sex with her granddaughter in exchange for cocaine. Most grandmothers dote on their grandchildren, not swap them for drugs. This dirtbag, Angela Blackwell, is reportedly 45 years old and I pray the judge will lock her up for the rest of her life. I do find the fact that her bail is $1500 is a travesty, especially since there are reports that she engaged in sexual misconduct with the child too.
