Tommy Bennett, Openly Gay Former Travel Assistant of Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., Accuses Him of Sexual Harassment & Bias

Lawd, this can't be the news Rev. Jesse Jackson would want to come out about him -- sexual bias and harassment against an openly gay man. According to NBC Chicago, Tommy R. Bennett, a former employee of Jackson at his Rainbow Push Coalition, filed a wrongful termination and discrimination with the city's Commission of Human Rights last year against the civil rights leader. He alleges that Jackson even propositioned him. Hah. Bishop Eddie L. Long has company!
Jackson has denied the allegations in a legal response that was filed in July 2010 and resurfaced when the Windy City Times published a story Tuesday.

Bennett, 55, who is a member of President Obama's LGBT Leadership Council, claims Jackson ridiculed him in front of other employees and required him to perform "humiliating tasks" like escorting women to Jackson's various hotel rooms, cleaning up after alleged trysts and packing his clothing. It also includes an allegation that Jackson asked for oral sex, according to the claim. Jackson flatly denied each claim in his response.

In 2008, Bennett assumed the duties of Jackson's travel assistant. In that capacity, Bennett alleges to "clean his [hotel] room after sexual intercourse with women." Source
Well, this mess will keep Jesse Jackson Sr. out of the public's eye for a while. Rev. Sharpton is beginning to look like the lesser of two evils. While I am no fan of Jesse Jackson, why the hell did this man allow himself to be belittled in such a manner? I would have resigned the first time Jesse Jackson asked me to clean up after he committed adultery. That's the same question I asked about Anita Hill, who complained Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas sexually harassed her. Karma is a bitch, isn't it?
