According to the victim, and other witnesses, Robinson, 62, was exiting the bus and “turned to retrieve her purse from inside the MARTA bus and the front door closed on her arm,” Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones told the AJC.McMillan is reportedly being held on $1,000 bond and has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. There was a time when we had compassion on the elderly and those with disabilities. If the allegations are true against this bus driver, she should be fired immediately. The fact that she left the scene is inexcusable.
“The MARTA bus driver began driving east on Joseph E. Boone, dragging the victim approximately 63 feet,” Jones said. “The MARTA bus driver stopped the bus and opened the door,” Jones said. “The victim fell to the ground and rolled in front of the MARTA bus.” Jones said that McMillan then “drove around the victim and left the scene.”
She said Robinson, who uses a walker, sustained a broken arm and lacerations on her legs and head. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. Her condition was not available Monday morning. Source: AJC
