I am a deeply religious person, but I know bullsh*t when I hear it, particularly when it comes from politicans and pastors. GOP presidential hopeful Gov. Rick Perry spoke at Liberty University yesterday, describing how “all through life there have been these supernatural events” in which God sent him signals. He said God sent a “real clear message” by using rain to stop him from leaving Texas. Sorry, God didn't send rain to stop him from leaving Texas. God is powerful and omnipresent. He could send a far more powerful wake-up call to Rick Perry. News flash, it often rains, bro.
He went on to explain, “You go through my life and there have been so many of those events that occurred and I don’t get confused, it wasn’t coincidence.” “It was God’s hands on my life, guiding me in the ways He wanted me to be, and I truly believe He has me here at a time such as this:” Um, exactly how does this revelation bolster his desire to become the next president of the United States? Wasn't he the same person who wanted Texas to secede from the United States of America?
