Boston Set to Restrict Knives & Machete Sales After Stabbings Rise to 1,300 Over Two Years

Boston City Council to vote on ordinance that would require a licensing process for the sale of knives, since the city has seen a spike in stabbings over the past two years.

The city of Boston is making harder to purchase a knife, thanks to the rise in stabbings in Beantown, about 1,300 over the past two years. The Boston City Council will meet tomorrow to vote on an ordinance that would require a licensing process for the sale of knives. The city already dictates the types of knives that can be sold, but this new ordinance would allow the state to continuously keep dibs on anyone who sells everything from Swiss Army knives to machetes.
