Sharon Staples, pregnant with twins and mother of seven, shot & killed on Milwaukee street early Sunday morning in front of her 13 year old son after refusing to give would-be robbers her purse.

A pregnant mother of seven, Sharon Staples, was shot and killed by robbers in Milwaukee, WI, after refusing to turn over a purse. The robbers had initially fled the scene, but doubled back to grab the purse as Mrs. Staples, who was four months pregnant and expecting twins, lay dying on the street in front of her 13 year old son early Sunday morning. The robbers fled in a teal 1997 Dodge Caravan SE van, but came back and stole the purse while Staples' son ran for help, according to the Journal Sentinel.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Sharon Staples. Here was a woman trying to do the right thing by her kids, starting her own businesses.
