A racist flyer is circulating in Alpharetta, Ga., in opposition to Amana Academy -- a Fulton County charter school that opened in 2005. The problem for some is that the school offers students in kindergarten through eighth grade language classes in Arabic. One family is speaking out and saying "every paragraph is racist and hate-filled," in reference to the flyer, that is. The flyer is being circulated by a group called Milton County Tea Party Patriots Citizens Council. The Georgia Tea Party has disavowed the group saying they are not familiar with the group, according to 11 Alive News.
The flyer refers to Amana Academy as a “terrorist training camp” as well as calling Muslims “camel jockeys” and “ragheads.” This is a disgrace. By the way, there is no Milton County in Georgia. There once was a Milton County eons ago and there are people working to bring it back and separate the more affluent cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton, Sandy Springs and Mountain Park from Fulton County. Amana Academy is seeking to build a bigger school on Windward Parkway and will go before the Planning Commission to discuss such a plan.
On a personal note, I have lived in North Fulton county since 1999 and I have never had a problem. It is very disconcerting and shocking at the same time to hear about racist behavior rearing its ugly head here.
