Pastor Zachery Tims' funeral set for 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, at First Baptist Church of Orlando, with limited viewing of body on the 20th, and the body will lie in state at New Destiny Christian Center, Friday, August 19th from 3-7 p.m.
Live-blogging 7 p.m. Meeting at New Destiny Christina Center: I am watching the live meeting at
New Destiny Christian Center, started by
Pastor Zachery Tims and his wife
Riva. The speaker (not sure who he is) is saying that "the haters can't change the minds or the course of action at New Destiny. The building is already too small for what God has." "We have to move forward," the moderator said. He said "let us reverence a life and a father," in response to the
bloggers and the press coverage of
Pastor Zachery Tims' death. He said they are going to safeguard the memory of Zachery Tims. He said "they aren't going to allow someone without the facts to besmirch the legacy of Pastor Tims." He said "the church is grieving and we're aren't looking for a pastor." "Don't slip me your business cards." "If you really love your pastor as you have professed, I want you to make a covenant agreement with me to lift up Pastor Zach's children." "I still want the children to have everything they need, college, cars, etc.""We came to kill some demons tonight." "There is no friction with Pastor Riva." "We've come to kill demons tonight."
Riva Tims also spoke at the meeting, saying she had recently spent time in Puerto Rico with her ex-husband, as well as her former mother-in-law and their four children. She said, “I stand before you tonight in all humility with the power and grace of God and also with the spirit that Zach left behind to press on and not give up." She said it was God's divine plan to allow her family to spend time together before his death.
Dr. Wanda Robinson was next to speak. She said the reason they delayed giving a statement was to allow his family time to tell the extended family. The body was found in his hotel room in NYC. Cause of death not yet determined. Homegoing service will be Saturday, August 20th at 11 a.m. at the
First Baptist Church of Orlando because that is a bigger venue. Viewing of the body will be on Friday, August 19, at NDCC from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and a limited viewing on Saturday, August 20th at First Baptist Church of Orlando. She said, "God is in control and will not fail us, He will not forsake us. She read from Psalms 115:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.... The leadership of the church will now be under
Minister Samuel Anderson and
Elder Marguerite Essanason.
