13 year old Darius Brown dies after being shot in drive-by shooting as he played basketball at Metcalfe Park on Chicago's South Side.

TRAGIC: Darius Brown, 13, died after being shot while playing basketball Wednesday everning on Chicago's South Side. According to the Chicago Sun Times, the boy was playing with others at Metcalfe Park, when someone inside a southbound vehicle opened fire with a handgun about 5:20 p.m. Brown was taken to University of Comer Children's Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the neck. Another life lost to drive-by shooting. Black-on-black crime can't be swept under a rug and ignored. It's a real problem in neighborhoods that must be confronted.
