Rodrick Shonte Dantzler Wanted in the Deaths of Seven People, Including a Child, in Michigan

Rodrick Shonte Dantzler considered armed & dangerous after going on bloody rampage in Grand Rapids, Mich., killing seven people, including a child.

Rodrick Shonte Dantzler is wanted in the deaths of seven people, including a child, inside separate homes in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dantzler, 34, is still at large.

According to the Grand Rapids Press, police were involved in a chase with a man they believed to be Dantzler. The suspect's car crashed in a ditch on I-96 and he fled on foot, chased by a police Special Response Team.

He has entered an apartment and is holding at least one hostage -- and at least three shots were heard inside the house, the Press reports.

Police say three people, reportedly two women and a 10-year-old girl, are dead at one scene, and four others were killed at a separate scene about two miles away, reports CBS affiliate WWMT.

Another man was apparently shot at a third site Thursday in what police believe was a related incident, but was not killed. Source
Why am I not surprised that Dantzler has a criminal history, a violent one at that, dating from 1992, when he was a juvenile, to the present. According to WWMT, he was pled guilty to assault and battery in 2010, serving about a year. That's just the start -- in 2000 he pled guilty to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and was sentenced to three to 10 years.
