Harlem Teen Tysha Jones Killed, Four Men Wounded as Gunfire Erupts on Brighton Beach Boardwalk in Brooklyn

Harlem teen Tysha Jones shot & killed, Julien Boudet, James White, Tykwan Beckett and Wayne Gibbons wounded as gunfire erupted on Brighton Beach boardwalk in Brooklyn, NYC, with no suspect(s) in police custody.

Landmark High School student Tysha Jones, 16, was shot and killed, four men wounded, after gunfire erupted Thursday on the Brighton Beach boardwalk in Brooklyn, New York, as young people flocked to hang out on a school holiday. Alcohol, guns and plus the heat amounts to a deadly combination for young people. Let me just go ahead and put the sh*t out there -- a deadly combination for angry black young men. Why on earth would anyone in their right mind just indiscriminately fire a gun on a crowd of innocent people? Why? As far back as I can remember, when you have a bunch of black teens or young people hanging out, trouble comes. I would hope that anyone who saw the shooter will not hesitate to tell the police what they know and saw. The snitch mentality needs to stop. The shooter needs to be taken off the streets.

The hail of bullets struck a Harlem teen identified as Tysha Jones, 16, who died at Coney Island Hospital. "She was crying, and she fell back and she just wasn't moving at all," said a witness who asked not to be identified. "RIP to dis girl Tysha Jones, who was shot at Brighton today," one Twitter user wrote. (She was struck under the left armpit.)

Julien Boudet, 23, was enjoying lunch with his girlfriend at the Tatiana Grill when he was hit by a stray bullet in the restaurant. "He was just putting water on the wound and then the ambulance came and took him away," an eatery employee said. Boudet, a French exchange student, was shot in the leg and rushed to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition.

Another victim, James White, 17 -- who took a photo of Tysha and a pal before she was slain -- suffered a graze wound in the shoulder."I wasn't paying no mind, then the shooting started," White said after being released from Lutheran. Tykwan Beckett was also taken to Lutheran Medical Center (NY Daily News). The final victim was identified by sources as 26-year-old Wayne Gibbons. He was listed in stable condition. Source

Many residents of the area literally cringe when all the black kids descend on Brighton Beach because they know there will be trouble. That's a shame but the black community has no one to blame but itself for coddling these monsters fighting for their "turfs." The same issue of rising racial tensions is also playing out on Chicago's beaches. According to Chicago News Cooperative, racial tensions continue to brew year after year, with so-called flash mobs made of up largely of black teenagers wreaking havoc on beachgoers. Alcohol, guns and angry young people are a dangerous combination.

UPDATE#1:  The New York Post is reporting that the NYPD has its eyes on a "person of interest" in the slaying of Tysha Jones. They also believe the gun violence, that left four others wounded, was gang related.
