Former Dallas Cowboys Linebacker Godfrey Myles Dies After Suffering Massive Heart Attack

Former Dallas reserve linebacker Godfrey Myles dies at age 42, after suffering a massive heart attack in Florida.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Godfrey Myles. He died Thursday after suffering a massive heart attack on Wednesday. He was placed on life support in Florida, where he suffered the heart attack. Myles, 42, was selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 1991 NFL draft, after being named ALL-SEC in his senior year at the University of Florida, Yahoo Sports said. Myles started 11 games in 1995, his best season, posted a career high with 75 tackles, intercepting a pass, forcing a fumble and recovering two fumbles, Yahoo Sports says.
Though many former players have injuries at the root of their early passings (especially head trauma), it is not known at this time whether on-field injuries contributed to Myles' death. In March of this year, he was charged in connection with a $2.5 million mortgage fraud in Wellington, Florida. Source
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in their time of bereavement. Another life gone too soon.
