Facebook Sounds Off: Creflo Dollar's "Wreck" After Coming to Buddy Bishop Eddie Long's Rescue

It didn’t take long for various social networks to air “the video” after Sunday’s service at World Changers in Atlanta, Georgia. The video was of Dr. Creflo Dollar on a rant regarding former members of the New Birth Church attending his Sunday service.

Nearly one hour into his message, covering the topic grace and forgiveness, Dr. Creflo ranted, “And if you from that church that you know I’m talking about, you trying to join here – I don’t want you to join here – you need to go and join where you supposed to be.”

The rant ignited the World Changers membership to a cheer and many stood in ovation. But what message did it send to the body of Christ?

Religazine Media Group, home of RMGradio.org and the radio broadcast Issues After Dark, asked subscribers to the social network - Facebook - the following question: What are your thoughts on a Pastor who tells you, "I don't want you at my church - Go back to the church you came from!?”
Here are several of the comments:

Khalil Muhammad of Oakland, CA - Both of them are tools of the devil and for anyone who stands by such an act and tell the people of God to go back is simply Satan. If people did decide to go back how could they ever trust him with their children? When a person has had sex with a child, that person has a mental illness.

Vanessa Magali Oden of Marin, CA - I would wonder if there's dirt on him somewhere, since he doesn't care what I went through and would send me back to a spiritually abusive charlatan. I would wonder if he is afraid to speak out for fear of "leaks" about his behavior from the Pastor who was messing up.

Pastor Demetries Edwards of Oakland, CA - Creflo is out of pocket! From the start we should have stood united around "No Abuse in the Church". We would rather keep certain preaching engagements and conference invites on our calendar than to stand for what’s right. Our light is mighty dim on this issue with Bishop Long (& other Pastors/Ministry Workers) and the world is looking at the Church like "for real”?

Minister Denise of Los Angeles, CA - The problem is it's “their church” NOT GOD'S. So you have this BS going around that you are stepping in, walking around and smelling like.

D'Anntoinette Johnson of Birmingham, Alabama - He lost me at 'My Church'. I was under the impression that the church belongs to God!

It is unsure how to determine the motivation that led Dr. Creflo Dollar to comment on such an issue. By alluding to his congregation that Bishop Eddie Long had a “wreck”, but the good news is he got insurance…and Jesus paid the premium,” Dr. Dollar acknowledges that Bishop Eddie Long did something he should not have. What is concerning – not even Bishop Eddie Long has come forward to admit he was ever involved in a fender-bender; much less acknowledging a “wreck.”

In the end, Dr. Creflo Dollar – while sharing grace and forgiveness in his preaching – had a moment, when he too had a wreck. Dollar's wreck, just like Long’s, may have caused serious fatalities to those hurting in the Christian community. Fatalities that must be answered for one day on the other side of this life.
