Georgia special needs teacher Rachel Brokaw hospitalized with third degree burns after ex-boyfriend Morgan Elijah Yarbrough douses her with gasoline and sets car on fire at gas station.
Austell Intermediate School special needs teacher Rachel Brokaw was set on fire in her car at a Kennesaw gas station Wednesday morning by her ex-boyfriend. Cobb County police identified the suspect as Morgan Elijah Yarbrough of Powder Springs, Ga. Ms. Brokaw is hospitalized with third degree burns.
A Cobb County police investigator told Napier Viteri that a man and woman arrived at the gas station around 2 a.m. Police later identified the man as 25-year-old Morgan Elijah Yarbrough, of Powder Springs. They said he was arguing with his ex before the fire.
Witnesses said they saw a man pour gasoline on top of the woman. Police said Yarbrough set his ex’s car on fire, while she was inside, and fled the scene. A witness sent Channel 2 a picture of the car, with flames coming out of the back end. Source
Shouldn't this man be charged with attempted murder and not aggravated assault and arson charges? What did he expect to happen to this woman when he poured gasoline all over her and set the car on fire? He meant to kill her.
