Monique Exum busted for disposing of body of boyfriend John Davis in suitcase in the Bronx, now being investigated for stealing his Social Security checks and bank funds.
SHOCK: The body of retired pharmacist
John Davis, 73, was found stuffed in a suitcase in the Bronx, and his girlfriend,
Monique Exum, 36, has been arrested for improper disposal of his body. She is also being investigated for stealing his Social Security checks and bank funds, the NY Daily News said. She used his money right up until the decomposing body was found.
Police believe Monique Exum, 36, repeatedly committed fraud before and after ditching John Davis, 73, outside an abandoned Williamsbridge home. His body was found Sunday - three months after his death. "How could she be so cold-hearted as to just throw someone away like garbage?" Davis' daughter, Laura, 50, told the Daily News. "He was a good man who had a family and worked hard. He didn't deserve that."
Family said Exum dated Davis on and off for 10 years because she was after his money. "We never approved of the relationship," said Davis' granddaughter Ayana Jefferson, 29. "Even after he died, the cops told us she kept using his funds, cashing his checks and living in his house." The family said they thought nothing of Davis' disappearance, since they often went long stretches without hearing from him. Source: NY Daily News
What a POS! Exum is being held at Rikers Island on a $500 bond because she was only charged with the improper removal of Davis' body. She claims she found him dead and put his body in the suitcase, saying she did nothing wrong. Um, really? What about picking up the telephone and calling 911 and his family?
