David Barton Says Claim Thomas Jefferson Had Affair with Slave Sally Hemings & Fathered Children with Her was to Help Bill Clinton During Impeachment Process

Any parent with a brain would never send their children to be educated at Liberty University, founded by Jerry Falwell, a right wing evangelical wingnut who has since departed this world. The latest garbage being spewed at Liberty came courtesy of David Barton, founder of WallBuilders, when he delivered a speech on "deconstructionism" on September 9th. He claimed that Thomas Jefferson didn't father any biracial children with his slave Sally Hemings. No, he claims the affair and the children produced from the illicit union were part of a liberal conspiracy to help former president Bill Clinton during his impeachment hearings.

Barton blamed deconstructionism for most of what ails society today and deliberately distorts history to promote a left-wing agenda. Um, really? I hate to say it, but Thomas Jefferson was a founding father in every sense of the word and was probably no different from other slave owners who liked to engage in sexual relations with their slaves. Nothing new and certainly not out of the realm of possibilities. It's amazing how the right wing evangelicals love to rewrite history to suit their narrow and bigoted interpretation of the Bible and life in general. Again, anyone who sends their kids to Liberty University ought to have their heads examined.
