Alexis Simpson of District Heights, was charged with the fatal stabbing of Bowie State University roommate Dominique Frazier, of Washington.
Frazier, 18, was stabbed to death Thursday night inside the apartment-styled dormitory she shared with Simpson, who reportedly fled the scene after the murder. Simpson, 19, has been charged with first degree murder and related counts in the murder and is being held without bond. According to media reports, the two had an argument that led to a physical fight. Police have not been able to confirm what the confrontation was about, though other students who lived in the dorm described ongoing problems between the two.
Frazier was unconscious and bleeding from her upper torso when campus police found her in a hallway, police said. She died at a hospital within an hour.
Cassandra Robinson, a university spokeswoman, said Frazier was a second-year student who had not yet obtained enough credits to be classified as a sophomore. She said Simpson was a transfer student who was also credits shy of completing her freshman year. Source
Bowie State University canceled all classes Friday but told students there was no ongoing threat to campus safety. This murder comes on the heels of Florida A&M women's basketball stand-out Shannon Washington's murder by her girlfriend,
Starquinishia Palmer after the two argued.
