Once again, the Republicans show how little respect they have for President Barack Obama. Speaker of the House, John Boehner (R-OH) just rejected Obama's request to address a joint session of Congress on the night of September 7th and invited him to deliver the address the following night. Um, the president doesn't play second fiddle to the Republicans and certainly not the Republican presidential candidates. It's the other way around. Boehner said September 8th would be better "so we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks." Right.
UPDATE: President Obama caves to John Boehner's rejection of his request to address a joint session of Congress on Sept. 7, 2001. Now agrees to speak the following day.
