Terre Haute Police Officer Brent Long Shot & Killed Serving Felony Warrant, Suspect Killed in Return Fire

Terre Haute IN police officer Brent Long fatally shot as he and other officers served felony warrant on home, suspect killed in return fire.

Yet another law enforcement officer has lost his life in the line of duty. According to Officer Down Memorial Page, Terre Haute police officer Brent Long was shot and killed as he and other officers served a felony warrant at a house.

The suspect opened fire on the officers as they entered the home. Officer Long and his canine, Shadow, were struck. The suspect was also killed by return fire by other officers.

Officer Long succumbed to his wounds at a local hospital. The dog was taken to a veterinary clinic and is expected to recover.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Long, who served with the Terre Haute Police Department for six years and is survived by a wife and two children.
