President Barack Obama Threatens to Stop Seniors from Getting Social Security Checks if Republicans & Democrats Can't Reach Deficit Agreement

President Obama said he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks on August 3rd if Democrats and Republicans can't reach an agreement on the deficit talks. He's throwing it out there, if you want the wrath of senior citizens, many of whom are literally living from check to check, unleashed then I think the Republicans should call Obama's bluff. Add the Rep. Paul Ryan's plan to literally throw seniors over a cliff to the mix. That should be enough to tick that block of voters off.

"I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven't resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it," Mr. Obama said in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, according to excerpts released by CBS News.

The goal of the Republicans is clear -- to make the president look bad enough in the eyes of the public that they would actually look like an attractive alternative. Wrong. When we have a slate of idiots running for the Republican nomination, that's a hard pill to ask any voter, including me, to swallow. I don't care what Obama says, short of treason, I certainly wouldn't give Sarah Palin (Alaska's Quitter-in-Chief) Michele Bachmann or Rick Santorum (who have no qualms about blacks going back to a life in slavery to preserve the so-called family structure) my vote over him. If Jon Huntsman had a backbone, maybe I would consider him, but he's polling horribly.

So, if the Republicans and Democrats think President Obama will be the only one blamed if seniors don't get their Social Security checks come August 3rd, they are dumber than I thought. Obama will twist this to show that he tried and the squabbling, partisans wingnuts don't want to work together. They are being operated like puppets by special interests and in the case of the Republicans, the Tea Party. The Republicans think the American public is made up of idiots who can't see that they are just as much to be blamed for the debt crisis as the Democrats. So, John Boehner saying it's President Obama's problem, shows just how out of touch he is and how much crap he's trying to ram down the throats of this country.
