Gallup Poll Says "Generic" Republican Presidential Candidate Would Beat President Barack Obama, Is This Hogwash?

Gallup polls says President Barack Obama trails "generic Republican candidate" by eight points.

Oh where's that generic Republican candidate that President Barack Obama seems to be trailing by eight points? I know the elections are a long way off and it's highly unlikely that the Republicans will be able to sustain this trend, but wow, that does make one wonder about the potential outcome of the general election in 2012. The good news with this Gallup poll is that no candidate in the present Republican line-up would beat Obama. Lord, please let the Rethugs be dumb enough to rally behind Rep. Michele Bachmann. Obama would most definitely win by a landslide.
