Steven Lake kills estranged wife, Amy Lake & their two children, Coty and Monica in apparent murder-suicide.

Steven Lake, 37, of went to Dexter, Me., and killed his estranged wife, Amy Lake, their two children, Coty, 13, and Monica, 12, Monday before taking his own life. This is a horrific case of "domestic violence." Steven Lake was charged last year with holding his wife and children hostage at gunpoint in Wellington, where he most recently lived, according to media reports. He was free on bail, pending an upcoming trial. There was a protection from abuse order in place prohibiting him from contacting his estranged family. Of course, abusers will stop at nothing to get to their victims. This is such a sad case. Mrs. Lake was a teacher at Dexter Middle School, police said.
